(CNN) -- Michael Bloomberg is investing a chunk of his personal fortune to minimize the influence of the National Rifle Association.

The former New York City mayor pledged $50 million to his new group Everytown for Gun Safety, an umbrella organization for his two other gun control groups: Mayors Against Illegal Guns and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. It aims to make the political climate more supportive of gun control.

The new organization plans to compete against the NRA by adopting its playbook. The NRA has built an impressive and effective organization that touts millions of members, a robust lobbying organization and a massive campaign arm.

"You've got to work at it piece by piece," Bloomberg told the The New York Times.

Let the clown spend his cash.

The inconvenient 2nd Amendment will be rather hard to dislodge.

And may have the side benefit of significantly decreasing this idiot’s fortune.

Look at me I am somebody a##clown needs to shut up and sit down. He stole a third term with the help of croanies that failed as well

This group isn’t challenging the NRA on gun safety. The headline is a farce.

Ummm....Let’s see...5,000,000 NRA members donate $10 each...That matches Mikey’s money...so we donate $20 each and Mikey’s money needs to double...Frankly I’d donate $100 to see Mikey spend 500 million of his cache...In fact I’d work overtime for a year to donate $1,000 and see Mikey go bankrupt..worth the effort...

No but he went after the real criminals, salt and supersized soft drinks.

“The new organization plans to compete against the NRA by adopting its playbook. The NRA has built an impressive and effective organization that touts millions of members, a robust lobbying organization and a massive campaign arm.”

The NRA has a couple of main things that their organization will lack: logic and the truth. No amount of money will make up for those handicaps.

Complete
Nonsense
Nightly
...........reported on something besides Malaysia 370?

Anyhow, note that all of the News Cartel is using the same phrasing of “NRA playbook”. That is just one more example of how “the news” is planned and co-ordinated from a central source.

Hey CNN,, (aka the COMMUNIST NEWS NETWORK),,,, you quoted;

"The NRA should be afraid," said Shannon Watts.

First off Ms. Watts, the NRA doesn't speak for as many gun owners as you may surmise. Many gun owning patriots don't believe in or support the NRA. We believe in the 2nd Amendment and our own damn selves thank you. In other words WE are the one's YOU and the rest of your anti-arms commies should fear. Bunkerville should've woke your "numb skull" right up.

Moms are afraid that our children will be taken away

Ms. Watts, you'd best be more concerned regarding the fact that "King Crap Obama" would relish nother more than initiating Martial Law and have your children shot for doing next to zero. BTW (by the way) Bloomberg you best read this also because the sleeping giant is now wide awake and wide open. We are tired of your lunacy, your sick agenda, narcissism, power mongering, and everything that stands against the CONSTITUTION AND FREEDOMS.

Bloomberg's activism for gun safety increasedHey CNN, didn't you mean "gun confiscation?".

It's okay CNN,,,, none of you libs have to lie anymore because we just do not believe you turds anymore. Ya'll can kiss my Cajun a$$.

The new organization plans to compete against the NRA by adopting its playbook.

How does he plan to do this? The NRA is a grassroots membership organization with 4 million members. How, exactly, does a billionaire throwing millions of dollars into a cause he, personally, supports, amount to "adopting its playbook?" It has nothing to do with grassroots support, the NRA's playbook.

Oh yeah.

All those billions and he is irrelevant. It's probably driving him (more) nuts. I guess he thinks he can buy the influence he thinks he deserves.

Bloomberg in all his self appointed glory cannot take with him the Ego that
has wasted his life, the Demons around his death bed will see to that.
