We previously noted that both beef and pork (courtesy of the affectionately named Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea virus) prices have been reaching new all time highs on an almost daily basis. It is time to update the chart. Below we show what a world in which the Fed is constantly lamenting the lack of inflation looks like for beef prices...

When prices really do “soar” you won’t need a journalist to tell you about it.

Apparently you do, or you could just ask your wife.

For all the complaining about food prices, it’s always done with a full mouth.

And some here wonder how Obama got re-elected.

Actually the meat price surge is a supply and demand thing not due to the inflationary practices of this admin.

The other grocery increases however most definately are.

MEMO
To: CPI Calculation Staff
Subject: Changes to CPI Calculation

Please revise all CPI Calculation Formulas to eliminate any and all references to the price of beef, pork and shrimp products. This change is due to the need to avoid distortions in the CPI that would result from the obvious ongoing manipulation of the prices of these products by greedy capitalists.

Steak and lobster have gotten so expensive, the only people who can afford it are those with EBT cards.

If people are making less and spending less, how can it be a demand thingy? Supply side maybe, given that the costs of feed, transportation, etc. are dramatically higher. Bottom line, libtard scum policies are killing the country and the economy, by design.

Inflation will never “officially” go up, to much interest payouts tied to the inflation rate. The incredible shrinking ray is running wild at the grocery store as the amount you get keeps going down but the amount you pay is going up or maintaining. It is always amusing listening to the rationale for why food and fuel are not counted in the core inflation rate, even though they are two of the biggest impacts to the family budget.

Cow herd numbers are way down and now this disease is devastating pig numbers.

Even if demand is down marginally supply is Waaaay down.

I’ve been in the meat business for 40 years and know what I’m talking about.

In our Houston suburban store:

Milk: Borden’s 2% $2.39 for half gallon
Tomatoes: 2.99/lb
Green or Red Peppers: $10.00/10 (have to buy 10)
Ground Beef: $5.29/lb (80% Lean)
Chicken Breast Filets: $5.49/lb
Whole Chickens: $1.19/lb
Butter: $2.97/lb (store brand)
Apples: $1.99/lb

We also don’t pay sales tax on food - not sure if you do or not.

Remember years ago we used to buy whole chickens for $.19 a pound. Bought three a week and 5 lbs. of hamburger for $5.00. You can’t even get 2 lbs. of hamburger now for what I used to spend for meat which fed our family of four for a week.

Growing/raising food take a tremendous amount of fuel/oil for fertilizer etc.

So yes, these high prices are a direct reflection of O’bastards policies!
