With the apparent defections in the Senate, I wonder if there could be enough votes for a veto override. That would be the ultimate embarrassment for that arrogant sack of shit.

Then again, with his apparent cowardice on this issue due to his indecision, he’d probably be happy to have the matter taken out of his hands. Thus far, he seems to be defaulting to his tradition of ‘voting present’, rather than making a choice which will anger people. On one side, you have the envirowackos+moonbat party base(who write big checks), and on the other you have labor, energy interests, and the people at large who would benefit from the jobs in a down economy. Whatever he chooses, someone is going to be pissed.

Personally, I think that this even being an issue demonstrates just how incredibly stupid our country has become. Any sane nation would have already constructed this pipeline because of its obvious benefit. Does anyone believe this would happen in Russia or China?

Some well reasoned speculation over at PJ Media goes:

Obama has put Keystone on hold indefinitely;

Obama thus calms some environmental whackos;

Between now and September or October Obama will find another bone for those whackos; and,

In September or October Obama will ok Keystone just in time for the Senate Dems to have something to crow about just before the election.

That sounds about right to me.

——I wonder ——

For there to be a veto, there must be a vote.

Dingy Harry will not permit a vote. For there to be a vote, Dingy Harry must be removed

Speaking of pipelines, it makes you wonder if we would be allowed to build the Alaska pipeline today. The way the enviro-extremists have such power, veto power apparently over major projects such as refineries and pipelines and nuclear plants, how do we neuter these people????
