One of the leaders of the far-right extremist organization Right Sector, Oleksandr Muzychko (also known as Sashko Bily) accidentally shot himself when offering resistance to police officers that were detaining him.

Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Alexei Baganets made this statement at a session of interim investigative commission of the Verkhovna Rada that was engaged in investigating the circumstances of Muzychko’s death.

Muzychko’s body with gunshot wounds near the heart was found in the night on March 25 near Barmaki village not far from the city of Rivne. On the same day, the Interior Ministry stated that he was fatally wounded by the servicemen of special task unit Sokol during a raid aimed at his detention in the Rivne region.

Upon results of internal investigation, the Interior Ministry of Ukraine admitted April 2 that the actions of members of the special task unit Sokol during Muzychko’s detention were lawful.

Interesting, considering that the multi-ID Ukraine poster was calling for Avakov to be murdered, after news of this guy's death broke.

Muzychko’s body with gunshot wounds near the heart...

Interesting. Most people who accidently shoot themselves in the chest only manage to get off one shot...

It would also be interesting to see if he accidentally shot himself multiple times in the chest or the back.

Yes, he shot himself in the back several times, but only after repeatedly striking the police officer’s fists with his face.

A double tap — once in the chest, once in the head — would be a tad more suspicious.

Well, the Russians aren’t shedding any tears over the death of this guy. There were articles early in Russian Media about how he may have been responsible for killing some of the Ukrainian cops at Maidan, and the original sniper attack.

Killing him takes him out of the equation.

From the bottom of the article:
Muzychko and other members of the ‘Ukrainian National Assembly — Ukrainian National Self Defense’ (UNA-UNSO) party took part in battles against Russian servicemen during the storm of Grozny and brutally tortured the captives, killing them after that. He is responsible for murders of not less than 20 Russian soldiers.

One of the UNA-UNSO members gave testimonies.

In 1994-1995, Muzychko and other UNA-UNSO members participated in fights with servicemen of the federal forces during the storm of Grozny.

In January 1995, the examinant was repeatedly witnessing Muzychko brutally torturing the captive servicemen and then killing them.

When torturing, Muzychko broke the fingers on the hands of army officers, put out eyes, pulled out their nails and teeth with plies, cut throat to some of them, and shot dead the others.

Nice guy, eh?

I always noted how cowards in the Army were always fascinated by those who tortured others and their stories, as a mean to impress.

Meet your liberal...

The Army is big and diverse... and you always have this one “antiwar type” in the ranks... yet he is the one watching at night videos of thugs torturing others with an excited smile.

No, they have a plenty more left. This guy was pretty minor, but rather noisy.

Nah, he’s Right Sector. Nazis are National Socialists. And the new Ukrainian cabinet is crawling with Socialist-Nationalists, (Now named the “Svoboda” party since their former name was banned).

Right Sector claims to be Christian, not atheist. But what I don’t get is that Muzychko supposedly was a war criminal fighting with the Chechnyans.
