but he’s wrong on this. Completely.

I hope very much that Bundy was misquoted. But, if the report is accurate, he has done great damage. This goes beyond PC. He (Bundy) has stuck a "kick me" tag on his own ass.

(I do NOT need Beck to tell me this. It's kind of blatant.)

This is the last straw with me and Beck. I am turning off his channel on my menu.

"You wondered if blacks were better off as slaves picking cotton and having a family life? They didn’t have a family life!”

Hey Glenn, how is "family life" working out for the Govt-enslaved minorities in places like Chicago, Detroit, DC?

Did black slaves have families? Well, the answer is surely not as absolute as Mr. Beck says. There were masters who were inhumane to their slaves. I’m certain some of them intentionally broke up families and treated their slaves like animals. There were other masters who treated their slaves well. Some actually encouraged their slaves to marry and raise families as that created a more content slave.

Bundy’s beliefs, character or lack there of, has nothing to do with whether or not the Government is behaving in an unconstitutional manner.

As a matter of fact, this is correct. But, few can or will separate principles from personalities.

I want to, but just can’t listen to Glenn Beck any more. So now, I use the timeslot to play podcasts of the Mark Levin show. “There, I said it!” LOL

First of all, I realized a long time ago that I’d have to be unhinged to continue to listen to Beck.

Last night I was watching a Civil War documentary and following the emancipation proclamation Sherman said Blacks should be freed but not equal.

Third, I have a relative who fought for Civil Rights for more than 50 years. He spent his entire career trying to help blacks. I asked him what the solution is for the problem blacks face today. I was shocked when he said “Segregation”.

Fourth, even racists have constitutional rights.

Take it all anyway you want it.

He did say it, as part of a larger talk on government dependency. It is being taken way out of context.

But still - he is entitled to his own opinion, regardless of whether the leftards flip out or not, and they are using this as a way to distract from what they are doing to him and his family.

We should have known something like this would happen the minute Harry Reid threatened that “Something is going to happen”.

They always announce their plans... we just don’t listen.

Beck is a dog whistler. WACO was a travesty. An act of murder by a lezbo who should be in San Quentin. Does that mean we think Koresh was a good guy? No. He was a creep, but creeps have rights too. Beck pisses on the Constitution when it suits him.

You are quite right, and this was seen a long time off by a lot of FReepers even before the tie in with Harry Reid emerged. They have been looking for any excuse to demonize the Bundy family and play the race/class/extremist trump card from day one.

Is Glenn Beck honestly suggesting that if the man is a racist the government has more of a right to confiscate his cattle and seize the land than if he is not. Even if the comment is accurate ( I suspect this is on of those fake but accurate reports myself)it is a far crying from saying you want to return to slavery or want to enslave people.

There is a certain amount of truth in that.

Now, Glenn, make the case that the life of their descendants, with a near-100% illegitimacy/illiteracy rate, being murdered on a regular basis by other Blacks in the big-city Democrat-controlled urban plantations is any better.

If one listens to Mr. bundy for more than 5 minutes you can tell he is really poorly spoken. It was only a matter of time before something like this happened. He should have stuck to complaining about the plight of western ranchers.

That being said, if framed into tighter better stated context, Bundy isn't far off. Under slavery, slaves were exploited for manual labor to make their masters rich. A totally evil practice for which this country still pays a price. Under the "great society" we foster a system that exploits the worst traits of human nature, builds a cycle of poverty, and has destroyed the family structure of many of those who were supposed to benefit from that system.

Instead of a slave master, it is liberal politicians that benefit from keeping those people in poverty. For black Americans this means voting for the same party that tried to preserve slavery, instituted Jim Crow and segregation laws, and now intitutionalizes the cycle of poverty. The effects of this are not isolated to black Americans. Welfare's promise of equal in-opportunity is true and the government has shackles for all types of people.

I don’t think blacks were better off as slaves. That’s what Mr. Bundy is reported to have said. Welfare dependency is bad, but slavery is also bad. I don’t know why anyone would even try to decide which is best. It’s like trying to decide whether it’s better to be murdered by a knife or a gun. It’s a ridiculous comparison and a foolish one to make to an MSM hit man, aka reporter.

Statement “OVERHEARD” by NYT is how it was reported. I would love to know any communication between Harry Reid and the reporter because I think this is “the something that is going to happen to Cliven Bundy”

Why doesn’t Beck STFU and do a little thinking instead of running his mouth.

Here’s the video link to the Bundy interview in question.

http://bambuser.com/v/4549915

I’ve now heard it in context. listen around the 14 to 15 min mark to about 20 minute mark. He’s talking about the plight of people caused by government socialism. The liberal media is reaching and stretching it here to the point they are not telling the truth.
