Even IF Mr. Bundy actually made the comments as reported, he didn't say slavery was good. He simply opined that African Americans do not enjoy freedom under either system, slavery or living on the dole without the framework and support of intact traditional families. African Americans, or Negroes, as Mr. Bundy called them, may have had MORE freedom in some respects when they were living as families in rural areas, even as slaves. I don't think anybody with good sense wants to be a slave, and I don't think that Mr. Bundy meant that at all.

It took you less than 13 minutes to come with a perfectly logical defense. Are Rand Paul, Kevin D. Williamson, and a sizable portion of FR too stupid to think beyond what the NYTs tells them to think? It might take them 21 minutes, but it’s worth it for them to avoid being drones.
