No, let's not. Steyn is usually more perceptive than that. To give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he just meant, "For the sake of argument, let's say Bundy is a racist." But I still don't like it; calling someone a racist is not something we should waive through so casually.

It was a rhetorical hypothetical. Exactly like the rhetorical hypothetical that Cliven Bundy used when he asked “I wonder if they would be better off...” You’re criticizing Steyn for the same thing Bundy is being condemned for.
