We don’t deal with race. Hockey players are a close knit fraternity. Believe it or not, in hockey, the haters are weeded out when they are kids. On more than one occasion I have terminated a players contract for throwing around racial comments. Didn’t even blink. It’s no tolerance.
Several year back, one of my best players and a kid who had a shot called one of the opposing players a Chink. Came back to the bench and said, “the F’ing Chink didn’t even see the hit. Thats because he has no peripheral vision.” By the time the word vision was out of his mouth, he was removed from the team.

Had a friend who was a High School basketball coach and a good one.
Having noticed that his on court players were all black except one and the white kid was often not as bassetball skilled as the others. I asked him why would he play a less skilled white kid and his reply was “if I had a full court of blacks they would each try to keep the ball to the detriment of the team, having one white in there settled them down for more team-work and winning more games”.
Sort of says it all, way beyond the basketball games.......

This is why I stopped watching the NBA when they went on strike in 2000. They couldn’t figure out how to split up over $2B back then.
They can have it. I hope they go with an all black league, with all black players and all black coaches . . . and all black fans.
