They became living petri dishes to cultivate bacteria that evolve into drug resistant bacteria. Then they become carriers of that drug resistant bacteria as they die from its effects.
The sexual revolution was predicated on the ability to cure STDs. Few people wanted to sleep around if it risked an incurable, horrible infection.
Antibiotic immune STDs put a kibosh on the sexual liberty liberals enjoy. Condoms aren’t sufficient protection against such a risk, when lesions and skin rashes can spread far past that.
And we know condoms don’t work well enough today, because one in four adults supposedly has an STD.
So you’re back to old fashioned modesty and chastity for the sake of your health and sanity.
