Actually, they are like the long-term unemployed. They are feral. They don’t have a grasp of getting up, going to work and staying at work for a shift.
We hire people who have been out of work for a year and they wander in late or leave when they want. They use up all their time off in the first few months. When they try to schedule a vacation, they don’t understand that they used all their time off. They are so used to getting paid to do nothing.
It’s no wonder that they quit to “go back to school” so much.
Lot’s of older people in their 30’s and 40’s also that do not understand that “vacation” is not that you take off whenever you want to but is a set amount of time. And they do not get taking sick days and personal days all the time year in and year out = lazy in the mind of hiring managers like myself.
