Sales of plug-in electric cars last month appear to be staying level with last month's,...

What did I miss here? Of course they would.

Wait until after the November elections when Barry's "delayed" new EPA regulations kick in. The "plug-in" buyers won't be smiling then. They'll need two loans. One for their "car" and one for their electrical bill.

I wish there was a flex fuel electric hybrid 4wd pickup truck that could be used as a generator.

A portable power plant the could go anywhere and burn nearly anything would be great.

A portable wood gasifier that could sit in the bed would be ideal.

Diesel's the way to go.Fifty MPG (highway),700 highway miles between “recharges”....recharging can be done in 4 minutes at any one of 30,000 recharging stations nationwide.

I wish there was a diesel 3/4 ton pickup on the market. The last on was the Isuzu pickup.

5 liter diesel? Too much engine, I need a small 4 cyl diesel and a 3/4 ton truck. I don’t need earth mover torque.

Unless you’re needing the pulling power, diesel (at least as offered under US EPA crippling limits) doesn’t work economically.

The relatively small fuel economy gain doesn’t offset the vehicle purchase cost and added per gallon price of diesel fuel.

No tuneups and lasts forever. That is why I like diesels.

Maybe in the old days or maybe in China now.

Talk to somebody with massive EGR, diesel particulate filters, diesel exhaust fluid, yadda yadda.

The 2014 “EPA” diesel is nothing like it used to be. And those 30,000 psi fuel pumps...lasting forever? Not likely.

The new diesels seem like a check engine light waiting to happen.

My #1 son purchased a vw tdi wagon; the diesel was about 4k above gas. They now have a 1k rebate; so 3k plus.

Also he shopped Honda, Subaru and vw; all were about 30 k out the door.
Only the vw diesel gets 30/42 epa.

He has a 70 mile highway ride each way; each day!

Methinks the numbers are there?¿

You want a Volkswagen Amarok diesel. Too bad they don’t bring them here.

Often the higher price of diesel is due to taxation policy, not market forces. Go find the tax by state for gasoline and diesel and compare. API has it.

They need to start calling them coal cars, because that is really what they depend on. You know...that industry Obama wants to destroy! I wonder if you asked the average liberal where electricity comes from the percentage that would say, "the wall"
