The Soviets went the other way, no bread and no circuses.

Didn’t work out so well for them, either.

Printing money is an act of desperation and a fool’s errand.

Rome. I thought they fell because of Christian fundamentalists. The Soviet Union fell because of lack of environmental regulations. Now where are my breads and circuses? Oh, there they are. McDonald’s and Game of Thrones.
