Does the desire to prevent violence override the First Amendment rights of citizens?

In one California school, the answer is yes.

WND:

It happened Monday in California to a small group of protesters who waved U.S. flags in front of a school where officials had banned the practice to avoid violence threatened by Hispanic students celebrating Cinco de Mayo.

Hate to suggest it, but a Class action law suit that threatens to bankrupt the school district will get the idiot school boards attention.

The Spanish Race (which I’m a part of) has nothing to do with these Aztecs, Mayas, and Tarahumara’s.

They need to cease calling themselves “latinos” and “hispanics” because they are not.

Nicely phrased. Thank you.

Purely out of my ignorance of the subject - Do the words "Mexico" and "mestizo" come from the same root word? Just curious.

Not sure about your question—probably not. Mexico (old Spanish spelled it Méjico) comes from the Méxican tribe of Aztecs.

Cinco De Mayo = Hispanic version of Kwanzaa, created by the beverage industry. This country will never heal till all the old hippies are dead.

threaten the loudest

Seems to be a useful bludgeon against modern-day white people.

It is sometimes hard to believe that this is the race that conquered the world.

Same here. Many shout out how proud they are to be Mexicans when infact, they also are European because they have Spanish blood. I happen to have both. The real Mexicans are dark skin and are Indians who happens to be treated rudely by the Mexican Government. The first language of Mexico was not Spanish but Nahuatl spoken by the Aztecs and only a small part of the Indigenous Indian in Mexico still speak the language. They have been ignored. So when I see the people La Raza shout out how proud they are to be Mexicans I guess they haven’t looked very closely in the mirror that they are Spanish too.

You know...I lived in México (Chihuahua City) on and off for about 10 years during the late 80’s - 90’s. I can tell you that there is a stark difference between “Norteños” and the rest of Mexico. Like night and day almost.

A lot of white Mexicans in the North—Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, even German and British immigrants to that part of the country. They don’t identify a lot with “los indigenas”—sure they say they do, but they don’t.

I will never ever understand how a Mestizo, or Mexican Indian can say they are proud of Mexico and being Mexican, when their country has ignored them and literally drove them out. If Mexico was worth celebrating—wouldn’t they be there?

No entiendo....

Exactly! If I was Latino, I’d be highly offended to be lumped in with these mestizos and Indians. True Latinos descend from one of the worlds most advanced and impactful cultures. These Indians are Latino; so odd to me this distinction is lost on most.

Every 2 years as a child we would travel to Mexico City to see my father’s family. There was 1 image I will never forget and has remained etched in my memory. I had to been about 10 years old. I believe it was near the Zocalo I recall a woman in her 50’s, she was sitting on the ground leaning against the wall asking for help. She was very dark skin and was dressed raggedy but she dressed like an Indigenous. Everyone (White Mexicans) passed her by, ignoring her. My Heart ache for this woman. Also I saw another case when we went to stay at my father’s cousin. I was about 13 at that time, so I decided to take a walk and there was an open field adjacent to the my cousin house and the neighbor’s house. So I went to the side of house on the open field only to my surprise and shocked literally to find a shanty home made of aluminum scrap put together. That is like here in the US having $500,000 homes and somewhere in the middle of the homes a cardboard box home. Again being ignored. I felt I walked into 2 worlds.

It is interesting the Mexican Government gives more attention and concern to the Illegals here in the US than the poor Native Indian Tribes in Mexico.

I know that image far too well unfortunately. It pains me to see it also.

I don’t know what the answers are either. I do remember that when Vicente Fox was elected, a lot of people thought and hoped he was going to help the Natives and Poor (nothing like welfare, but at least some empowerment type programs) and that all will be different because PAN won!

Well....as you say. They care more about illegals here than they do their own people.

We used to sell our old clothes to the outer city villages when we didn’t want them anymore. A lot of Americans don’t understand why I have very close to zero empathy for American poor. It’s because “American poor” aren’t poor! Not by a long shot!
