WAIT! North Carolina GOP Primary still Unknown. Only 14.5% of ballots counted at 11 PM EST
American Uncensored News Network ^ | May 6, 2014 | Jonathon Moseley

Jenny Beth Martin of Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund just emailed out defeat (“Tough Night”) in the North Carolina Republican Primary for U.S. Senate.

But a strange situation is developing:

Only 14.37% of ballots have been counted, even though 90.53% of precincts reporting.

http://enr.ncsbe.gov/ElectionResults/?election_dt=05/06/2014

Those who are not looking at the official results from the State of North Carolina, may misunderstand. Anyone seeing that 90.53% of precincts have reported will assume that the results are reasonably final.

But in fact, only 936,123 out of 6,516,126 ballots have been counted.

That means the biggest precincts have not reported.

It appears likely that the Republican establishment backed Candidate Thom Tillson will get the 40% needed to win the 7-way primary without facing a run-off in June.

Tillson is currently bouncing around between 44% and 45.5%.

However, it is way too early to say for sure.

there are 6,516,126 registered voters in NC.
about 1/2 million voted in the GOP primary
about 1/2 million voted in the DEM primary

the rest did not participate.

The information is from the North Carolina State Board of Elections.

If the NC State Board of Elections is presenting incorrect information, that is their difficulty.

Listen, before sharing opinions, try going to the original source:

You are wrong. Give up.

Nothing on that page lists “ballots counted”.

It lists ballots cast out of total ballots.

It’s a number related to turnout, nothing more.

“This is easily the most idiotic thing I’ve ever seen posted on Free Republic, and I’ve been here for a while.”

I’ve been here a while too, and unfortunately, it is not even close to the most idiotic thing I’ve seen posted.

In fact, it only gets about a 7 on the idiot scale for me.

Tillis, if nominated, will most likely lose.

No he won’t, a dead dog could beat Hagan, and now that Greg Brannon has lost (and a fine candidate he was, who I also voted for), Thom Tillis will WIN: And I intend to work to make it happen!

There is no winning or losing. The CAUTION to wait for final results is CORRECT.

If you think everything is about winning and losing, you might want to work out that energy doing something like a basketball game.

Yeah, they’ve still only counted 15.68% of the ballots...

I guess they will be finished next week...

Then we will know...

IF your official source of information is giving information that is unclear... JUST WAIT.

They are now showing 100% of precincts reporting, so it is reasonably clear.

Early in the evening, the NC website showed over 1600 precincts reporting, and then that number FELL to only 705 precincts reporting.

Technology is good... but it still ain’t perfect.

Yes, it was wrong for less than one hour. They announced this on the local TV news, and explained exactly what happened and why the precinct info was incorrect.

It has nothing to do with your incorrect claim that few ballots had been counted.
