“You obviously misunderstood what they told you, repeated it in error and now are avoiding taking responsibility for your error - standing behind a link that bears no resemblance to your claims in post #31.”

OK, as I said, you are not comprehending my words. “They” didn’t tell me anything, I spoke to one man. What do you think is an error in that post?

“What do you think is an error in that post?”

Okay....

“only those items plugged in will fry” is incorrect.

“Autos will not fry” is not supported by the testing done by the EMP commission. They did not want to damage the cars they tested, so they used a graduated “upset” criteria rather than a full EMP test. Some will survive, but it is mostly unknown which would/would not survive (of circa 2000 model years). Unknown for present model years.

“Faraday cages are not necessary” is incorrect.

“he said they will not drop out of the sky - they may hesitate but the pilot can recover the plane easily” is incorrect.

There is an entire set of standards on EMP hardening aircraft. Why? Because there are potential problems that go well beyond “easy” - and that’s with military aircraft that have already been designed with electromagnetic hardness in mind.

If they told you anything, you did not understand it, and you are now telling the world as if you know. You are incorrect on the majority of what you think you know, and you oversimplify the rest.

The truth about EMP impact and damage is somewhere in between your uninformed view that essentially little will happen and the Hollywood version that “everything fries”.

The key to mitigating EMP damage is to assess how important a piece of equipment or an asset is to you. If it is very critical to you, you should protect it. That can be accomplished a variety of ways.

It is very important not to give people a false sense of security, nor a false sense of alarm. Factual information and best available data and disclosure of “insufficient data” are important to this topic so people can make their own decisions if this is a concern to them.

You are not helping in the least bit.

You don’t know me or my integrity or my intelligence quotient. You still don’t comprehend my words and you continually put words in my mouth I didn’t say. I didn’t say “essentially little will happen”. A hell of a lot will happen and millions will die if the grid goes down for a long period of time. That is also the truth so be sure to argue about that.

You are correct in one instance - the tests performed to evaluate the effects of the EMP blast (plus a solar ejection) are not in that particular document, they are in another. Every test result I wrote is correct. I will put that document on here as I’ve done before.

It was the man who worked with Graham for years as an equal who answered my question about planes. The aluminum body is protective but that doesn’t mean other protective measures aren’t used as you seemed to imply I said or meant. It is his opinion after his many years working with EMP causative factors and developing defenses against them, that planes won’t fall out of the sky. He also said an airplane body split between aluminum and a non-aluminum substance, is more vulnerable, which makes sense and which I suppose would likely mean small planes (I am saying that, he didn’t).

An EMP event above the earth caused by a enemy country, causes damage in an umbrella pattern (I’m saying that, he didn’t) based on the other report I’ll post. A solar ejection goes in a straight line into the electric grid. He didn’t say that, I did, based on report of the committee group who explained the differences between the two events and performed the tests. Now, you can argue about that.

With all the expertise you claim to have about EMPs, why are you on this measly thread instead of being in Washington running the whole effort to guard against EMPs? Or, maybe you do run the whole program, but I doubt it as you would have better reading comprehension unless you were appointed by Hussein who lives in our house but that’s another subject.

“You don’t know me or my integrity or my intelligence quotient. “

I know a lot about you. You like to feel important by posting gibberish about “people who work with others as an equal”, whatever that means. You post links that you claim are authoritative, but are too lazy to read them. You shift your story when challenged with facts. You are a lazy debater. When you’ve been told your posts are wrong, you flip out, and claim your debate adversary works for Obama.

Did I miss anything?

My interest is in getting factual information about this subject out. That’s the only reason I am posting to you - you write as if your words are authoritative. They are not.

It is a complex topic. You should stay away from it until you actually know what you are talking about. Read more, post less.

My work correcting you is done, I think, save your snarky reply, which I actually look forward to reading!

Cheers.

Personally, I think you are both wrong. My understanding of EMP is that there is MORE VOLTAGE AND AMPERAGE -- and, like money and beauty, there is never too much.

EMP actually makes your devices work faster and more efficiently. That is because EMP is a kind of Super Electricity, that has more power than regular electricity.

LEARN SOMETHING ABOUT EMP, you MORONS.

I know I’m being presumptuous, but It’s quite possible that I work with you as an equal.

You’re probably right. They get enough done in those few nanoseconds, they live their entire useful lifetime.

I'm presently on Plasma Casters, after having spent 5 fruitless years on the Transwarp Drive. NOBODY is figuring THAT one out.

At least the plasma caster has a CHANCE of being reverse-engineered, and when we get that one down, our weapons ability will explode. Pardon the pun.

Right. So, the key is to set up all your computer programs beforehand, being ready to ride the EMP wave like a surfer, and reap all the benefits of that incredible Super Electricity. I usually set up my development environment and name the project after what I am hoping to achieve. Once you get blessed with the Magic Super Electricity of EMP, you can usually go back and the whole project is done and bug-free.

EMP is magical.

You promised that if I'd let you do that just the one time, you'd never tell. YOU LIED!

Laz, Pages 115/116 of the commission report presents the testing of cars and trucks but there is more to that in another report of tests. More is better than less as you say, “MORE VOLTAGE AND AMPERAGE...there is never too much.”
