Selling assets is never a sound policy for solving the problems of the poor. Sell all of the Vatican art, give the proceeds to the poor of the world, and it would be all spent in a week or two, if that.

That’s the problem with every kind of “redistribution”

The leading cause of poverty in the Third World is children. Stop the poor from having children and the poverty will go away.

So is money redistributed by governmental force. It promotes dependency and furthers exploitative government autocracy. The Pope is showing signs of liberation theology which the church has previously denied.
