Hes a second rate player who will fade into obscurity sooner than later.
So true. Remember that Tim Tebow who was celebrated even though he was a horrible Football Player. I suspect this dude will end up in the same position hopefully. Fads go away pretty quickly.
ESPN and other sports networks represent a significant percentage of the cost of an average monthly cable TV bill. While I’m not generally in favor of government regulation, I would like to see the government mandate the cable companies unbundle services and charge by the networks watched or even hours watched. When I boycott a network I would then be directly impacting their revenue stream. ESPN desperately needs a boycott that would hit them in the pocketbook.
I'm almost certain it's illegal to call a Heisman Trophy winner "a horrible football player."
I figure they’ll give him a solid shot during preseason, giving him some snaps in each of the four games, maybe even some with the first-team defense. His performance will be sub-par, according to what I’ve read about his abilities; then they’ll move him as quietly as possible to the practice squad and after the hype dies down, cut him before next season.
Think Mantei Te’o of the Chargers; a different situation, but same degree of media attention. He was everywhere prior to last season and we haven’t heard a word about him since.
Considering blood is sprayed during the game, it's only time before a normal straight player gets infected with AIDs and massive lawsuits are filed against the team and NFL for allowing this life threatening condition.
Roosters. Home. Roost.
He’s not a great player. I doubt he’ll make thourhg pre-season.
Like sports or not, the worst pro player is extremely talented. That rarely-used bench player is probably the best athlete in a generation or two from his home area.
Many people do very well in College but not able to play in the professionals. It happens all the times. Same with high school, a state winner could be exceptional and fall flat in College. That is what happened with Tebow. He was fine for College level football, but was not able to keep up with the professionals and that was after 3 chances. Most don’t even get that many chances.
There’s been quite a few Heisman trophy winners who were horrible pros. Eric Couch, Chris Weinke, Gino Toretto. College success is no guarantee in the NFL.
An easy path to move back to LA.
Woo Hoo, Affirmative Action for queers!
A Packer on every team....
They may not have been successful in the pros, but the comment I responded to said Tebow was "a horrible football player" - I'm sorry, but be he wasn't. Not by any stretch of the imagination.
Nobody hears much about sports not occurring on the East coast — the leftist media see to that.
Te’o injured his foot in the preseason, and was out until game 4 last year. He played ILB for 13 regular season games, with 61 tackles. Chargers made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs.
Is Te’o homosexual? Despite his denial, he probably is. But it seems he’s trying to stay in the closet (fake girlfriend), unlike Sam, Gay Egg Slams Ham.
Another point is rookie hazing. All go through it. Joe Montana used to throw rookie’s bikes into trees. Some rode them to practice and would have to search for them in the dark and tired after a long hard day.
So Sam could claim discrimination if they leave him alone, or cry homophobia if they do any pranks that they would do to any other rookie.
The first time this guy gets hammered on the field the press will say it’s because he’s gay.
I don’t know if Te’o is gay or not; I just meant that he was the hype-du-jour leading up to last season.
Why would that be a threat? Most queers are liberals, and liberals don’t like football.

I would imagine the ‘f word’ would like football.
Bunch of ‘big’ GUYS running around in tights and knocking the bgeeezzus out of each other.
The QB squatting under the Center.
All the Offensive linemen ‘assuming the position’.
The piling on.
Old chestnut about 3 ‘f word’ sitting around dreaming of the future and how they would become ‘famous’.
The first said he wanted to be a ballet dancer because they get to prance around and nobody ridicules them.
The 2nd said he wanted to be a Pro Basketball player as he would get to hang out in the locker room with all the ‘stuff’ hanging out.
The 3rd said he wanted to be Baseball Pitcher.
He explained that he liked the idea of standing on the mound, scratching and fondling himself in front of thousands of people, then walk around and eventually someone would yell
“THROW THE GD BALL C...S.....”
Recognition is what I am after.
RECOGNITION!!!!
You and me get it! The American public is being brainwashed bit by bit to accept abominations and drug legalization to make a brave new world for libs-leftist social engineers
There’s lots that can go wrong here.
First, he may not be able to live up to speculation. Whether he receives charity to remain on the team and does not get cut if he does not live up to standards is conjecture.
Also, he is a bit in a “role model” position and will have to live up to expectations of one in the public eye.
We will see.
Also, the NFL despite all who say they are bowing to pressure can’t really let one person, Michael Sam be bigger than the league, dominate the attention of the league and some news outlets surely are boosting this news story.
So, I think there is a potential of backfiring in this situation.
The more we see Gays/homosexuals, the more Americans may well say, “you know, I don’t think that is really what I want for America” whereas I think a lot of the so-called gay rights movement moves forward without people knowing too much about gays.
