I recently saw a heavily edited version on television.

There aren’t many Jewish people here in this neck of the North Carolina woods. And the few that are here, do not slip back and forth between English and Yiddish.

So, I had to look up why they edited out the name “Lili Von Shtupp”

FTA: That today's Left has become a bunch of insufferable, joy-killing, censorious, fascist Church Ladies who would never allow "Blazing Saddles" to be made today and that they will someday try to have the film banned.

Exactly - this would put it in the same category as much of the classic Warner Bros. cartoons, the WW2 Disney work, along with Disney's "Song of the South."

I first saw Blazing Saddles in the Student Union theater on a Sunday night. Unbeknownst to me, my future wife (still married to her - 37 years in August) was in the audience with her roommates. She still recalls my uncontrolled laughter while watching this film and makes fun of me to this day.

He needs to remake Blazing Saddles as an over the top parody of political correctness. Yea, it would be 2 hours on non-stop hammering of white males.

Come to think of it, I think it already was, except for the sheriff is near part.

“Blazing Saddles” is one of the best movies ever produced in Hollywood!!! Mel Brooks is a true, creative, pragmatic genius....who did more to make a mockery of slavery, racism then Obama, The NAACP & The CBC put together. In fact....Mr. Brooks went after just about all the things America needed to hear relative to bias and unequality.

IMHO.......I love Mel Brooks and I loved Harold Ramis, great Americans.....both of them!!! These fine gentlemen have given us all, dozens of films to laugh with and examine our inner selves and our country!!! Hats off.....to these guys....greatness lives among us. And.....special Kudos to “The Sheriff”, Mr. Cleavon Little & Mr. Gene Wilder, who became the “men for all seasons” in “Blazing Saddles”!!! Ramis has left us.....God keep him in glory, forever!!! As for Brooks.....Mel......”You Da Man”!!! The liberal, politically correct deadbeats in “Today’s Hollywood” do not come close to your talent, energy and creativness!!!

Mel Brooks is a true genius.

Only Mel Brooks could do Springtime for Hitler only to mock the outrage over it.

I remember those days when we could poke fun and laugh at each other.40 years ago, we had a small divide between each other and we worked it out, and now the Grand Canyon.
Who’s to blame? DEMOCRATS!

I disagree with Brooks on this. "Blazing Saddles" could be made today -- but only by a black guy like Damon Wayans or David Chappelle.

I decided to post a small bit from my favorite lines in the movie as my new tagline. The next line is a classic:

"I hired you people to try to get a little track laid, not to jump around like a bunch of Kansas City faggots!"

The part where Mongo lite his cigar by sticking his head into the campfire was epic.

I’m still trying to figure out how they managed to finish the movie in the first place. If I had been one of the cast members, I would have been laughing so hard while delivering my lines that they would have needed to do about two months of re-takes for every scene I filmed. LOL.

Banned!?! Say it ain’t so! Next thing you know, Disney will decide to never market “Song of the South”.
