You have first amendment rights. He said what he wanted to say but a private company can disagree and take action. I cannot say at my job that I don’t like black people and expect to keep my job. Free Speech is always allowed, consequences may be provided though.

There’s no first amendment issue here. The player is free to say what he wants. We have freedom of speech. But that doesn’t come with freedom from consequence as a result.

The NFL is a private organization and the Dolphins are a private partnership. They don’t have to guarantee free speech without consequence and no government entities have violated his rights. I’m pretty sure if I tweeted repeatedly that my company sucks, I’d be fired.

While I may not disagree with his sentiment - he exercised his right to say what he did - but now he’s living with the results. Just like Donald Sterling.
