Worse than that, FB is actually destructive.

People with attitude problems, emotional issues, mental health problems, and other negative factors in their lives hook up with a bunch of other online “friends” all suffering from the same conditions and receive constant negative reinforcement.

This is a serious challenge to family members and professionals who are trying to help those individuals.

And Facebook takes ZERO responsibility for it.

Oh for heaven's sake. Who knew? How disgusting.

OTOH, FB may be keeping them off the streets, making it safer for the rest of us. s/

On the other other hand, some of those "friends" might be pharmaceutical company reps making unsubstantiated/exaggerated claims for the meds they represent. I think companies actually hire "social media experts" to do just this sort of thing. I know for sure that alcohol mfgrs do…in order to get to teens and even younger kids that they cannot overtly advertise to.
