I have worked in real estate for years and I can attest with 100% certainty the segregation does exist. But not for the reasons people typically assume.

Segregation exists because blacks and Latinos purposely choose to live in areas where they will be in the majority. It doesn't matter how bad the crime rate is or that the schools there are just pit stops on the way to jail. Blacks and Latinos will choose 95%+ of the time to live near others of their race.

I have tried to talk sense to many of these people and they wont listen. There are apartment complexes in the suburbs that would put their kids in some of the best schools in the county, but they are not interested, and will only look for areas to live that are basically war zones.

They choose to live in their "comfort zone."
They want their children to be part of that culture.

They do it to themselves everywhere. I work with several black guys, none of whom are ghetto. Decent, most of them are pretty hardworking and knowledgeable. They'll sit and eat lunch with us. But as soon as there's a couple of them working, they'll tend to all sit together, bunch up on work, and kind of segregate themselves. Nothing malevolent, it just happens. I don't know if they even do it on purpose or not.

Its like that in Atlanta also. And a lot of it is $200,000 to $400,000 homes. Many many totally black subdivisions and nice ones. They prefer to live with each other as do Whites, Asians and Hispanics.

In the Metro Atlanta area you also see where the black kids are being bussed into affluent neighborhood schools the whites just put their kids in private school. So when school lets out in the afternoon if you didn’t know better you would think you were in a Black neighborhood.
