I became a country music fan when I started actually listening to the lyrics in music. The best stuff is in country. Bob Dylon can’t even compete.

Agreed. It has gone more pop, but this has allowed it to reach a more mass mainstream audience - which has to influence the youth, as the lyrics are generally patriotic, conservative, and traditional in nature. I think this is a good thing - vs the crap coming out of the hip hop stations with Jayz and Beyonce. I have teenage daughters and they love country music.

My country band tries to provide a good mix of old stuff and new stuff. There is a lot of junk out there right now, but there is also a lot of good stuff. You just have to find it. And it’s not really that hard.
