Has anyone pointed out that what happens at the VA amounts to death panels from a federal agency, by putting people on a secret list so nobody was supposed to know they’ve been deprived care? The gov can’t say there won’t be death panels when there are already death panels.

Good point about the VA. England has these sorts of situations with their NHS all the time. It seems, from reading, that the government acts shocked, promises to “look into” the matter and doesn’t do anything. Kind of like the VA.
The “Independent payment Advisory Board” does not even have to convene for its objectives to be carried out.
Very long wait rates are almost as effective, and they need no additional personnel.
