McConnell is a Republican with a 90%+ conservative voting record; Grimey (as she prefers to be called) is a liberal Democrat who likely will vote liberal over 90% of the time. I take it you prefer the liberal. Well, that’s your right, although you may feel more comfortable hanging out at DU, where they similarly want the liberal Democrat to win in KY and for Harry Reid to remain Majority Leader.

But to claim to be conservative and still support Grimey for the Senate? Now that is just retarded. (My apologies to the developmentally disabled, who don’t deserve to be lumped together with “conservatives” who support liberal Democrats for a 6-year Senate term with control of the Senate on the line.)

“What, in your view, were Bevin’s weaknesses? “

I am in Ohio, but it does border KY. From what little I saw, he is not as personable as a politician should be. And of course, his political team got caught napping by letting him speak at a pro cock fighting fundraiser.

His personality seems gruff.

Typical Ruling Class attempted intimidation. Your kind are are no better than the MarxoFascists. You’ve enabled the Ruling Class to establish tyranny over us.

I’ll explain it very simply:

McConnell DECLARED WAR ON CONSERVATIVES PUBLICLY.

He said they were going to ‘CRUSH US’ everywhere they found us.

Yet you are going to try and intimidate or shame Conservatives into supporting McConnell?? I take it you are fine with traitors who send their minions to slit your throat while you think you sleep safe in the camp?

I’m not ignorant of what McConnell has been doing behind the scenes to silence Conservatives and advance Obama’s agenda. It’s instructive that you support someone who does and then attempt to ridicule those of us who will refuse to vote for the scum.

I’d rather Grimes be in that seat than McConnell, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Harry Reid is going down. Normally the GOP senators try to vote their conscience whatever that may be and try to perform their job of governing.

Right now, they are just really angry and they are angry at one guy. It is Harry Reid and they are mad because he has made zero attempt at governing.

You want to know why Rand Paul endorsed McConnell and Cruz did nothing against Cornyn and no one says a word abour Linsey Graham or Susan Collins and actually Susan Collins says nothing bad about Cruz ?

They are all really mad at Harry Reid.

It’s not only ‘brilliant’ - it’s true.

Grimes has not publicly declared war on Conservatives, even though we know she is in the enemy camp. McConnell has declared war on Conservatives. Publicly.

McConnell pretends to be a Conservative, is supposedly our ‘leader’ and has worked to undermine, punish and ultimately war on Conservatives while enabling Obama to advance his Agenda in the Senate behind the scenes while casting ‘safe’ votes for appearances sake after ensuring the Ruling Class agenda advances..

If we took the senate and Mitch McConnell is in charge in Harry Reid’s seat there will not be much difference except maybe less rambling speeches about the Koch bros...

...and replace them with rambling speeches attacking the TEA Party.

ACU ratings are not always the best barometer of conservatism. John McCain and Ron Paul were in the low 80s, yet neither one was a conservative in the Buckley/Goldwater/Reagan sense of the term. However, your point about McConnell being better than Grimes is well taken. The Democrats know they can win if either the moderate or conservative faction of the GOP boycotts the election.

Of course, this begs the question as to whether we are better off with compromising Republicans or liberal Democrats in charge. There has been a cycle in American politics since 1933. The Democrats advance aggressive government expansion when in power; the Republicans do not roll back the expansion, but perform their own, lower key, expansion.

“McConnell is a Republican with a 90%+ conservative voting record”

You are referring to American Conservative Union’s scorecard which is a well-known joke. The Heritage Action is the gold standard for measuring conservatism in Congress and they rate McConnell at 75%.

Here’s how McConnell accomplishes his deceit as a political con artist when it comes to establishing his conservative credentials (and other GOP progressive senators do the same, in fact they follow McConnell in his art of deceit):

http://www.redstate.com/2013/02/22/the-american-conservative-unions-embarrassing-scorecard/

* ignore all the ways Mitch McConnell collaborated with Harry Reid to change Senate parliamentary procedure to work against conservatives;

* ignore a significant portion of fiscal bills in the Senate;

* ignore a host of bills designed to keep subsidizing failing enterprises with tax dollars.

Here’s the real record of McConnell:

* voted to keep the Essential Air Service program that conservatives annually ridicule as a waste;
* voted to continue federal student loan subsidization at a ridiculously low rate;
* voted for a massive highway increase;
* voted several times in favor of parliamentary changes in the Senate that undermine conservative’s abilities to stop bad legislation;
* voted for the debt ceiling increase;
* voted to keep market distorting energy tax credits and subsidies;
* voted to let a $41 billion bailout of the post office go to the floor of the Senate; and
* voted for a host of temporary spending measures designed to kick the can down the road to no end

Now a way that McConnell lies to his constituents about how he ‘voted against progressive bills in the senate’ is that he indeed does vote against them but only after he allows democrats to get the bill handed to them where they only need a simple majority to pass. In other words, McConnell sets up the ball for the democrats to hit it out of the park while turning around to his constituents to tell them how he’s playing defense. He’s a liar and a weasel.

There are over 3 million registered voters with under a 30%
turnout. I’d guess the
turnout in the general would somewhat better. If so and these are less interested
voters then who knows how they’ll pull the lever. But imo McConnell should be worried
if he thinks he’s going to be elected. JMO.

Some 47,000 more democrat voters.

Grimes had 94,000 more votes than McConnell. I don't think that difference is coming from the people that voted for Bevin.

McConnell is toast, and it won't be the fault of the Tea Party. The blame rests entirely with McConnell, who let Harry Reid ride him like a rented mule.

Well, they are not mad at Harry Reid all the time, some of the time that anger is just for political show.

For example, votes in the Senate in May to confirm Obama appointed federal judges:
George J. Hazel, District of Maryland, confirmed 95-0 on 5/1/14
Indira Talwani, District of Massachusetts, confirmed 94-0 on 5/12/14
Nancy Rosenstengel, Southern District, Illinois, 95-0 on 5/12/14
Steven Paul Logan, District of Arizona, 96-0 on 5/16/14
John Joseph Tuchi, District of Arizona, 96-0 on 5/16/14
Diane Humetewa, District of Arizona, 96-0 on 5/16/14
James Alan Soto, District of Arizona, 95-1 on 5/16/14

The most votes against any Obama judge confirmed in May is 42. The Senate has confirmed 258 Obama nominated federal judges since 2009.

This should put an almost closed door to the idea that Sarah Palin is still any kind of endorsement powerhouse on her own anymore. As we’ve seen this year with Katrina Pierson, Steve Lonergan, Elizabeth Benacqusito and now apparently Karen Handel (who also failed with the Palin endorsement the last time she ran for governor), Sarah Palin alone no longer has that Touch Of Gold backing that turns a loser into a winner (and the truth is the legend of such a thing is far more exaggerated than the reality).

yadda, yadda, yadda....

Read your little rant, rolled the eyes, smirked at your bitterness.

The ironic thing is most of these conservative activists held up Mitch McConnell as a model conservative leader and a heroic fighter for conservative causes, BEFORE he was Senate Republican Leader. You can go back and look at all the McConnell threads in the early 2000s when he was McCain's main foe on McCain-Feingold. They LOVED McConnell back then.

Now, supposedly, he's a closet Democrat who hates all conservatives and is an enemy of true patriots everywhere, and must be destroyed.

Gee, good thing they discovered his eeeeeeeeeevil liberal agenda AFTER he was named Republican leader.

So he "only" votes with us 3 out of 4 times. Better make he sure loses to a RAT who votes with us 0% of the time. That will teach the GOP a lesson!

You are referring RedState.com's analysis of GOP politicians, which is a well-known joke. So how's that Liz Cheney endorsement been working out for them? Did Wyoming conservatives drink the kool-aid that gay marriage Lizzy was the "true conservative" in the race?

Just a few days ago I was reading how conservatives would say that the GOP’s problem was that Senate leader Howard Baker compromised too much with Democrats, so we needed someone firm like Bob Dole; then we needed to get rid of Dole and get someone strong like Trent Lott; then we needed to get rid of Lott and get a principled conservative like Bill Frist; then we needed to drop Frist and replace him with someone who would stand up to Democrats like Mitch McConnell ... you get the picture.

The GOP leader in the Senate will never be perfect, and he usually will compromise more than we would like from our couches at home, particularly when the Democrats are in the majority. While I would prefer someone like Jeff Sessions presiding over the Senate, I’m afraid that even Sessions soon would be labeled a RINO because he didn’t defund the Executive Branch or something.

You know for a fact, as well as I do - that scripts and talking points are already being prepared to BLAME the TEA Party and Conservatives for McConnell losing to Grimes.

Hell, you can read some of it right here on this very thread.

Since they are already ridiculing and castigating Conservatives for refusing to support a weasel who openly declared war on them - I am going to live up to their accusation and ACTIVELY work to make sure McConnell is defeated in November by campaigning for a Conservative for the seat - whether Third Party or Write In.

McConnell wanted a war.

He's got one.

Now, supposedly, he's a closet Democrat who hates all conservatives and is an enemy of true patriots everywhere, and must be destroyed.

"We are going to crush them everywhere," McConnell said. "I don’t think they are going to have a single nominee anywhere in the country."

His own words. He declared war on Conservatives. He works behind the scenes to sabotage us, punish and trash groups who dare to try and hold him to account.

McConnell is no Conservative - he's a Ruling Class stooge and hack for the MarxoFascist regime that conquered this country in a velvet coup. Watch what he does to help cram Amnesty down our throats. You'll see. But even then, you will refuse to acknowledge it.

He's Harry Reid's 'Yes Man'.

With so-called "leaders" like McConnell, who needs enemies?
