Former American football star-turned-actor Terry Crews has become the first African-American star to offer embattled Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling support, after the sports boss became one of the most unpopular men in the nation following a racial controversy.
Sterling hit the headlines last month when audio of him making remarks about African-Americans went viral.
The ill-advised comments prompted an immediate backlash and the 80 year old was fined $2.5 million by officials at the National Basketball Association for the remarks. Bosses at the organization are also trying to force Sterling to sell the team.
Sterling has since apologized for his remarks in a CNN interview with newsman Anderson Cooper, and now The Expendables star insists Sterling should not be forced to sell his team for regretful comments he made to an ex-girlfriend.
He says, “We need to forgive Donald Sterling… Who here is not guilty of saying something in anger…? I’ve said things about my family, my wife, my kids that, if you record it, you would think I was the devil himself.
“I don’t think they should yank the team from him. The world has become so politically correct, no one is able to say anything anymore and it’s ridiculous… People can say something by mistake and now they can have their business yanked… it’s a dangerous precedent.”
Crews is in the minority — Whoopi Goldberg, Spike Lee and Queen Latifah are among the African-American celebrities who have publicly attacked Sterling for his comments.
And Donald Sterling should forgive those who have made it their business what was his personal, confidential comments to his girlfriend who betrayed his trust and their confidence.
I guess there was a reason why i always liked this Bad-Ass and he just answered it.
Good for Terry. If I found out a black owner hated whites I might try to avoid giving him my hard-earned money, but I wouldn’t want his property stripped from him. It’s disturbing that so many people think Sterling should be stripped of his property for what he said in a supposedly private conversation.
It’s not like the guy killed any dogs....
I think Sterling knew what most of us know now, that Magic wanted to buy the Clippers, he knew this whore V Stiviano for a while(She is known in the basketball world as being a gold digger) and it doesnt take much to get Sterling to ramble on and on..so all Magic had to do was instruct this woman to ask Sterling what he wanted to ask and the rest is history. Hearing those tapes, its like she was reading a script and I doubt this “Silly Rabbit” has the intelligence to come up with those things on her own

Haven’t we all at one time or another? It’s nice to hear from a celebrity who’s not jumping on the bandwagon with faux rage for attention for a change that’s just being real. Crews is definitely a very funny guy who’s made me bust a gut from time to time.
I’ll raise a glass of Brawndo to that.

I’ve met Terry Crews in Phoenix SkyHarbor airport on a layover. He was absolutely the nicest celebrity I’ve ever met. He seemed genuinely happy to meet a fan.
no need to forgive Sterling. He did nothing to me or to anyone really. I hope he prevails and doesn’t pay a dime to the NBA who are bigger racists than he is.
I’ve always liked Terry Crews. Now I like him even more.
He was good also in “Everyone Hates Chris”.
So true. What’s to forgive? Sterling didn’t even utter the unthinkable “N” word. Even if he did its not very nice but not agains’t the law.
Meanwhile down in the locker room all the bro’s are sitting around calling each other N@##a this and N@##a that. And prolly talking about how they gonna get rid of that cracka Sterling. :-)
It seems he understood the message of that movie.
The whole premise is stupid. How can a white man with a girlfriend that is part latino and part black be a racist?
The guy is a jerk but the marketplace should decide. And it’s nothing new. This guy has always been a jerk. And he should shut up and let his lawyer talk for him. He talks like a fool.
So his statements about Sterling are not out of line with his personality and character ... he's a live and let live, be responsible for your actions kinda guy.
