n late April, the Institute for Economics and Peace released their 2012 edition of the "United States Peace Index (USPI)." This comprehensive report ranks the 50 states and determines which are the most peaceful and which are the least peaceful. Maine is the most peaceful state with a Peace Index score of 1.31. Louisiana is the least peaceful with a score of 4.05. Michigan is ranked 29th with a score of 2.69. You can see the full rankings here.
A first glance at the Peace Index would appear to suggest that blue states are the most peaceful and that red states are the least peaceful. By extension, it would appear that Progressive/Liberal states are succeeding whereas conservative states are failing. Nothing could be further from the truth. The discrepancies in the Peace Index are in fact a damming indictment against diversity – the Holy Sacrament of Progressivism.
Cross referencing the Peace Index with the percentage of the non-Hispanic white population in each individual state yields startling findings. The Peace Index is updated from 2010, and the non-Hispanic white percentages are also from 2010, so the following numbers are an apples to apples comparison:

In before the “That’s Racist!” post...
Can you give us a hint, hopeful look. The site has sooo many ads, and keeps crashing my comp : /
God bless,

That is because more and more Mainers are coming to realize that on the eve of June 12, 2018 they will wake up free, free from the Union, free from the UN, free from all of the slavery of federal regulations and free to work and raise a family with no or literally no federal or govt intrusion.
That is why Maine is at peace, the very smell and thought of freedom backed up by no less than eight militias armed and ready to protect the polls and the peace, gives one reason to sleep peacefully and act peacefully.
The article is pointing out a different point, but I always find such ratings subject to the bias of the lister.
I would expect "the Institute for Economics and Peace" to ignore crime rate, while giving postive marks for restricting personal liberties and negative marks for more personal liberty. e.g. "better to be disarmed and dead murder victim, than a violent CCW holder".
Nutshell: The more white people and less “diversity” the more peaceful the place is.
Another White Privilege .Peace.
I use Firefox with Ad-Blocker, and don’t adds. To which site are you referring?
The site that purports to have the “full rankings” doesn’t display properly on Firefox, so I can’t help you much with that one.
Get Pale Moon with adblock.
Over on the side, one of their criteria is “access to weapons.”
I don’t believe something is racist if it’s true.
What I’d like to see is an examination of the cultures involved. I really believe that black America’s problems are more a result of the black culture than of an inherent defect in the black people.
I think they’d find that in general white (Traditional American) culture areas are always more peaceful and prosperous than black or hispanic culture areas.
I agree....it is the Culture...not the people. Talk with immigrants from the continent of Africa and you can tell an immediate difference. They haven't been brought up in the hate whitey mentality.
No Jessie, no Al, no constant harping on the differences between black and white, no hip-hop, no hoodies, etc.
LOL, this isnt the ME I know. The southern tier is a commie mecca. What are you going to do w/ them? Then there’s the big unions and the trough feeders who think they can do no wrong....which is most of the rest of the state. Perhaps its ‘peaceful’ b/c the people living there havent yet had an excuse to kill each other.
My reaction also to the post. Maybe it's because there's high gun ownership and we haven't yet reached critical mass in the urban diverse utopias of Portland and Lewiston.
How come nobody here seems to know about this except you?
Oh right, I forgot about the ‘Somali’ problem. Seems like a train wreck looking for a place to happen.
Would be interesting to hear from the original poster....
I am the only one authorized to speak and report on it on FR.
Do not fall into the trap of judging the entire state by the Portland Press herald and the candidates the two parties put up. Look instead at the Rural crime stats, look at the rural demographic breakdowns, look instead at the history of Maine, how it became a state, the reasons for it seceding from Mass, don’t be like so many who judge a book by it’s cover.
