I don’t think they can be healed libel for another persons illegal action.

That being said, public buildings in my state cannot put up a no guns sign unless they have a way to screen for guns and have an armed guard to protect the occupants. Our public library is spending a fortune to keep legal carriers from legally carrying.

Idiots like these DO NOT help our cause. Do NOT go out of your way to scare the sheep, it creates bad public relations.

I suggest that those to idiots are antigun plants to get the response they wanted out of the establishment. And it worked.

I thought a picture would help convey the truth of the situation.

I don’t have a problem eating next to someone open carrying but if someone walks in brandishing or otherwise acting foolishly with a weapon, I’m considering my exit strategy.

I agree. Idiots like these spoil it for responsible gun owners. Why you might ask?

Chains like Starbucks and Chipotle and others did not have any “no guns allowed” policy, in areas of the country that have open carry laws, before these pro 2A “activists” started showing up in large groups to “demonstrate” that they were not only openly carrying but carrying their biggest guns and pushing the limits of what might make others in these establishments uncomfortable*. Worse yet, they openly promoted these demonstrations before hand and taunted anti-2A groups like “Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America” (eye-roll) to counter demonstrate.

* Yea, I know that some people are uncomfortable even with a picture of a gun or with some kid chewing a pop tart into the shape of a gun and they probably deserve to be made “uncomfortable”.

But it’s not as if these folks from Open Carry Tarrant County and other similar groups were at Chipotle or Starbucks just to partake in a burrito or a latte, they were there, IMO to demonstrate how “cool” and big and bad a$$ed they are. To me a responsible gun owner who openly carries does not flaunt it in people’s faces and they don’t go out of their way to make anyone uncomfortable. In fact a responsible gun owner, one who openly carries, should demonstrate that guns are safe and make people safer by not acting like idiots.

And FWIW, the guy on the left should probably lay off the burritos anyway.

At the end of the day, Starbucks is in the business of selling coffee and Chipotle is in the business of selling burritos. These pro 2A groups, while they have perhaps good intentions, have put these companies in a position and embroiled them in a controversy that they didn’t ask to be in the first place. They are not running their business as a place to hold “demonstrations” of any kind, either pro or anti gun. Hence the “please leave your guns at home” requests.

I don’t have a problem eating next to someone open carrying but if someone walks in brandishing or otherwise acting foolishly with a weapon, I’m considering my exit strategy.

Exactly. FWIW, many, many moons ago I managed a convenience store. I often worked the day shift by myself and sometimes also worked the late night shift and boy, did I encounter more than a few crazies - the stories I could tell. My store was also once robbed at gun point. But if a customer came into my store with a properly holstered side arm, I probably wouldn’t even bat an eye and in fact I’d probably ask him or her what he was carrying and what shooting range he goes to. I also had a lot of cops come in for coffee and yes, donuts LOL! And I was never concerned that their guns were going to jump out of their holsters and kill me.

On the other hand if the two bozos in that picture came in, I’d probably be holding my finger on the panic alarm and or reaching for my pistol that I kept under the counter after the robbery. I’d be thinking perhaps, at least initially that these two were Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold wannabes and up to no good or that they were so irresponsible about their weapons that they might accidently shoot themselves, one of my customers or me even if an armed robber happened to come in at the same time. Just saying.

Might as well have a sign on the door that reads: Rob Me, I am Unarmed.

I believe that sign was on the front window... next time they can post it on the door.

That's the problem, they didn't have a gun free zone sign at the kitchen entrance. One look at that and they would have walked away disappointed.

So true:
