Works ‘fine’ for me. But, I don’t have a base level to compare previous searches with.

ONLY get results from Free Republic by appending “site:freerepublic.com”

Still working for me, same as always.

You may want to be scanning for Malware at this point.

So I put in “Site:freerepublic.com no longer linking”, and this thread is the first item on the list

I only needed to type “free rep” and a link to Free Republic popped up at the top of the search results.

The Florida Department of Children (whatever they’re calling it this month) is a monument to government mismanagement. I wrote about it on FR some years ago and at that time was able to find records of the many missing and murdered children, events which occurred while in “protective” custody. But now there is no trace of those records. I know somebody who currently works for them and he said a recent government report says they’re missing some 450 children of the 44,000 in custody. They are seldom missing fewer than this number. But I was unable to find anything on Google.

Happening for me too. The results come up but they lead to the redirect page rather than the story on freerepublic.

I encountered the same problem minutes ago, when I was logged out of my gmail user account and googled key terms including the site:freerepublic.com qualifier. I use that site restriction method occasionally as well for freerepublic, but today I saw that a high percentage of results were links to the redirectors, like you said.

Thankfully, I found that using site:freerepublic.com/focus instead seemed to clean the results from all the redirector links. Unfortunately, that might exclude some results that you'd rather keep. I think you might get a fuller picure if you also do separate search using site:freerepublic.com/tag

Unfortunately, I'm not sure there's a way to combine two "site:. . . ." restrictions in the same search.

I just did a search on “Yossarian site:freerepublic.com” and it came up with 67,800 results.

I haven’t had time to check all 67k, but the first page of links go right to FReerepublic.com.

Try it without the “site:freerepublic.com”.

I just tested: al gore freerepublic.com

Worked fine, but with the word “site:” Google went directly to the article page.

Yes, I have noticed that some false results this last week that have been planted often at the very top. I now have to look at the URL under the results to make sure it is freerepublic.com as the lead URL... and even then I have been redirected to unrelated web sites that are about as conservative as the general Berkley university student.

PS. this computer is 100% STD clean of any malware/adware/trash as some have suggested as the possible problem. I run a clean ship.
