The Sheriff’s office has not officially named the suspect. The attorney for Peter Rodger told The Associated Press that the Rodger family believed that the suspected gunman was the director’s son.
Elliot Rodger is the son of Peter Rodger, a special unit director on The Hunger Games and director of Oh My God, a documentary the screened during the Cannes Film Festival in 2009. The director’s manager has not yet responded to a request for comment from THR.
Elliot is the grandson of George Rodger, famous photo-journalist and co-founder of Magnum Photos. George took the famous National Geographic Nuba series photos in 1949.

Yep. Probably haven’t finished their investigation. After all, a video posted by the shooter explaining who he is, how he’s gonna do it and who he’s gonna do it to could just be a hoax, the “poor kid” is just a victim and someone put him up to the video and used his car to randomly kill women.
