'We were WRONG, we are SORRY' Senior Labour MP pens open letter to Ukip voters

ONE of Labour's most senior figures has written an open letter to Ukip supporters today, apologising for the party's previous views on immigration concerns and urging them to "keep an open mind".

Shadow Justice Minister Sadiq Khan concedes Labour has been "too quick to dismiss concerns about immigration, or even worse - accused people of prejudice" in the letter, which was sent exclusively to Express.co.uk.

Mr Khan lists a range of policies designed to entice former Labour voters thinking of voting for Ukip back to his party.

The letter comes just days after Ukip saw its number of councillors across England rise by 161, eating into Labour support in Essex and the North.

Below is the letter in full:

This is quite interesting.

At least all of the major parties in the UK have achieved a political consensus that legal immigration needs to be reduced substantially. We have not reached that point here with both parties pushing increased immigration and more guest workers.

Reading it, I come away with a sense that Labour finally realizes that not just a few people, but a significant cohort of people, are really pissed off about the idiotic immigration policies of the UK.

The trouble for Labour now is that the only way to win those voters back is to start talking about clamping down on immigration, which the Labour Party simply won’t do. Ever. The LP depends on their pro-immigration stand with the business sector and with the immigrant activists for their power base.

Let’s see if the Brits actually do something about being over-run
by Muslims, instead of just talk about doing something.

My guess is that this will only accelerate UKIP’s position at the expense of Labour. We need a USIP.

Wait until those in upper management are replaced by bigoted foreigners who don't give a darn about "fairness" or meritocracy, they are dedicated to "looking out for their own".

“We have not reached that point here....”

We get a large amount of dishwashers and landscapers, with admittedly a small criminal element. They seem to get mostly jihadi-loving welfare cheats.

"Shadow Justice Minister Sadiq Khan..."

Yikes, how that sounds to American ears.

Sounds like the job title and name for a sinister bad guy from Anthony Herbert's Dune series.

Pander much? The UK voters can perform the simple math that Labour leaders are unable or unwilling to do - open immigration policies do more harm than good.

Or sounds like a senior official in Holder’s Dept. of Injustice.

Shadow Justice Minister Sadiq Khan

Read no further to understand why Labour has no credibility on the issue of immigration in the United Kingdom. Once-Great Britain has been consumed by its empire, and now the conquering Muslims are pouring in to finish the job. Londonistan.

We need a USIP.

Yes we do. And I like the name, the US Independence Party. People can relate to that. Independence from government interference. Independence from high taxes. Etc.

I never liked the "Tea Party" name. It sounds rather old and quaint. Not dynamic at all.

There is still an amazing amount of stupid in that “apology”.

I especially like “energy prices will be frozen”. Wow, why didn’t we think of that 15 years ago? How about 40 years ago?

We have over 2 million criminal aliens in this country. Over 50,000 Americans have been killed by criminal aliens since 9/11. Why don't you take a gander at this GAO Report: Criminal Alien Statistics: Information on Incarcerations, Arrests, and Costs GAO-11-187

As far as welfare is concerned, immigrants, legal and illegal, use welfare to a far greater extent than the native born.

Accusing people of racism works, until it stops working. In this country, I thought people had reached their limit on false racism accusations in 1990. I was wrong. Could the tipping point be approaching soon here?

The White Privilege Conference, the knock-out game, the idea that there is no legitimate opposition to Obama, it's all racism. These and many other events are building, the anger and resentment of these false charges is building, will it finally explode?
