As for the dem side, I ran into Kinky Friedman at the grocery store again yesterday. We shook hands and exchanged pleasantries but he seemed a bit shaky and looked mighty frail. He’s 70 and has never won an election.

I'm sorry to hear that. I always liked him, and enjoyed some of his books. "Greenwich Killing Time" was particularly good, as I recall. I read it during a northeaster while camping at Mattawamkeag, Maine, way back in the 90's. What fond memories.

Yes. I have most of his books, all signed and personalized by the Kinkster himself. A few albums as well. He is actually a very kind person and i hope he has another crime novel in the works. You mentioned Greenwich Killing Time ... a favorite of mine as well.
