Obama Hits Suburbs After Election
National Review Online ^ | May 27, 2014 | Stanley Kurtz

President Obama repeatedly assures us that this will be his “year of action.” (snip)....

Yet not a word has been heard of late about a truly transformative Obama executive action, his rule on “affirmatively furthering fair housing” (AFFH). That rule will push Americans into living how and where the federal government wants. It promises to gut the ability of suburbs to set their own zoning codes. It will press future population growth into tiny, densely-packed high-rise zones around public transportation, urbanizing suburbs and Manhattanizing cities.

You won’t see a more ambitious Obama administration initiative than this. Yet Obama never discusses AFFH. Although a preliminary version of the rule was released in July of 2013, the president didn’t mention it in his State of the Union address. The controversial rule was the subject of a Weekly Standard cover, yet as far as I can tell neither The New York Times nor The Washington Post has ever done a story on AFFH.

Now it emerges that the Obama administration released its planned regulatory agenda quietly on Friday, just ahead of the three-day holiday weekend. The object, of course, was to minimize press coverage of controversial rules like AFFH.

As I read it, the long-delayed issuing of the finalized version of AFFH is now scheduled for December of 2014, right after the midterms. The Obama administration seems to specialize in short-circuiting democratic accountability. Obama’s reelection bid would likely have failed had he not delayed the implementation of Obamacare until after 2012. His scheme to nationalize Common Core was developed out of stimulus funding, with no public debate. Now Obama plans to launch a housing initiative dedicated to gutting suburban independence and urbanizing America,

Just another day in our new normal command and control economy. There’s so much going on at once, no one can concentrate any effort to thwart the Federal Government take over by regulation and taxation.

From what I’ve heard, it sounds as if they want to put more Section 8 housing in nice suburban areas.

Unfortunately, when you get too many Section 8 residents in an area, the neighborhood tends to go ghetto.

Like so many social engineering plans, this one will fail too. But not before much damage is done.

What makes liberals think that they can solve every conceivable social/economic problem with some governmental action?????

What makes liberals think that every problem is solvable? We have ghettos because critical masses of people who choose destructive lives live in concentrated areas. This concentration spawns and reinforces the baby mama culture and the youth gang culture.

As sad as these ghettos are, I’m not sure that government regulation can solve their problems. We have spent trillions on the War on Poverty, and have nothing to show for it after 50 years. What makes anyone think that we will see better results with this idea of scattering ghetto culture into other areas???

Doesn’t Congress have a say in making laws any more?

Remember, the top goal of the left is not to make the lives of the people moving into the suburban section 8 housing better,

but to make the lives of the people living in the formerly crime-free suburbs WORSE.

I've read this too... my question is, does he somehow think homeowners can be forced to rent to section-8 parasites?

As I understand it, landlords have to sign up to take Section 8 tenants. I would guess that there will be incentives given, to “encourage” landlords to rent to Section 8 tenants.

I’ve talked to some property owners, who have done this, and have said never again would they rent to Section 8. Between the paperwork/bureaucracy required, and the fact that you get a low class of tenant who tends to tear your place apart, it just isn’t worth it.

Says it all—there are only 31 comments on the website. Small number for such a transformative regulation

All this crap Obama has done wouldn’t be reversed in 12 years of GOPe rule.

Get ready for more “white flight”, if they populate critical masses of ghetto folk in suburbia.

Sometimes I think “white flight” isn’t the correct term. It’s more like “middle class flight”. Many decent black people moved out of Detroit after the riots there, and out of other cities too.

They jack up the rents when the government is paying, which hurts those not on the dole

No Congress has no say. Obama decided that they are not representing the will of the American people. So he will use a pen and a phone and act on his own.

I think it’s laughable, that Obama says the Republicans have been rejected by the American people. Republicans control a majority of state legislatures around the country. A majority of state governors are Republican. Republicans control the House of Representatives. Yet Obama says that the Republicans are a party representing only the fringe of American politics. And the media laps this up.

Think about it. Democrats control the White House and the Senate. Republicans are dominant in every other measure of political strength around the country. Yet Obama says that Democrats are the ones who represent the mainstream.

Seems we are being ruled more and more by regulation and executive order. Seems to me that Congress is abdicating their power:(

Keep in mind, Obama has nominated latino-separatist Julian Castro, (a possible 2016 Dem VP candidate) as the new HUD Secy. HUD will administer Obama's revolutionary AFFH regulations, if, and when, they go into effect.

BEWARE THE CASTROS US Cong Julian Castro, San Antonio, his identical twin brother -- San Diego Mayor Julian Castro (VP wannabe w/ higher ambitions, also making the rounds of presidential primary states)....and Mamsita Castro---Maria “Rosie” Castro--hardline La Raza activist.

Freshman Cong Joaquín Castro warned last year that if Speaker Boehner adhered to his promise to invoke the so-called Hastert rule, the House will not pass comprehensive immigration reform last year.

So I guess deferring amnesty will put the kibosh to the ambitious Castro family's separatist plans for America, thank God.

God only knows how much San Diego tax money and Congressional tax money----from her sons----is going into furthering mamasita's La Raza activities.

San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro---2012 Democrat convention keynoter---genially introduced the twins' mother, Maria “Rosie” Castro to the convention-goers. Mamasita Castro is a radical ethnocentric, anti-assimilationist....a key figure in the activities of the blood-thirsty, tax-funded “La Raza."

====================================================

AMERICANS ARE ALREADY FUNDING MAMASITA'S HATE-FILLED ORGANIZATION BIGTIME: In 2005 alone, $7.9 million in taxpayer funding was given to La Raza charter schools in the form of US Dept of Education grants.

LA RAZA schools stress Latino culture, the Spanish language, the re-conquest of the American Southwest, the establishment of the mythical Atzlan on US soil, and even Aztec math.

In addition to using taxpayer funds to enforce the teaching of murder and violence in US public schools, the federally-funded La Raza organization operates 100 charter schools across America.

LA RAZA TEACHES HATE-AMERICA WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS La Raza Studies do not even try to sugar-coat its anti-America agenda and its bloodthirsty plans to kill off Americans: Raza Studies textbook “Occupied America,” by Rodolfo Acuña, includes a violent and blood-curdling speech given by university professor Jose Angel Gutierrez: “We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is, if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him,” (pg. 323). The following is taken directly from La Raza's Occupied America: “.......execute all white males over age 16,” (p 167--AKA the Plan of San Diego).

===============================================

La Raza also got Democrat Congressional earmarks and tax dollars for "mortgage counseling." The super-secret Congressional Hispanic Caucus calculatedly launched a housing initiative called "HOGAR"-- Spanish for home. Conspiracy and collusion were the watchwords....... race-based "La Raza" was given tax dollars and Congressionsl earmarks to finance its so-called mortgage activities. La Raza's "strategic partnerships” with Wachovia and Bank of America forced the falsifications of mortgage-application and the dumbing down of mtge requirements and documentation standards.......which caused taxpayers to be socked w/ billions in bailouts as the US economy tanked.

La Raza aided and abetted risky federal and private-home loans to latinos over the last decade. thanks to the lending industry’s version of “don’t ask, don’t tell.” In addition to millions of federal tax dollars, La Raza also collected a $1 million Democratic earmark that funded “community-development” projects. Analysts report that much of it went to "mortgage counseling."

Before Castro gets any govt job, taxpayers demand answers to these questions:

<><> how many govt checks is he, his brother and his mother cashing?

<><> how many ID's doe he and his family have?

<><> how many SS nos does the Catro family have?

<><> are he and his family getting multiple EITC refunds?

<><> did he and his family ever engage in voter fraud using fake ids?

=============================================

Illegals are notorious for using stolen SS nos and fake ID's.
Castro should be asked how many people he knows who are:

<><> pocketing welfare, food stamps, EITC refunds, SSI, free medical care, Section 8 housing, UI, Workmen's comp,

<><> getting hefty SS checks by claiming "asylum"

<><> falsifying apps to get fraudulent sub-prime mortgages,

<><> making false claims on IRS forms in order to get multiple EITC refunds?

<><> using illegal driver's licenses?

<><> wire-transferring money back to Mexico; the Third World,

<><> opening offshore accounts under multiple identities,

<><> are paid agents of foreign governments.

=========================================

Cashing multiple govt checks under several identities is generally used in these categories:

UI, SSI, Workmen's Comp,

TANF (temporary assistance to needy families),

WICS (food assistance),

subsidized Section 8 shelter,

ObamaPhone subsidies,

Utility Assistance subsidies,

School breakfasts/lunches/snacks subsidies,

$5000 a year EITC checks per identity.

They try to frame it in racial terms, but you’re right, it’s more of a class issue.

The left hates the idea of a middle class, because they love to indulge in their elitism. They love to have a huge difference between their lifestyle and that of the masses.

The existence of a middle class “stinks” to them, because there’s not that much difference in lifestyle (running water, sanitation, nutritious food, indoor climate control) between them and the middle class.
