Even the pundits at CNN had to agree President Obamas reception at West Point was nothing short of icy. His graduation speech has been slammed as being less Commander in Chief and more policy wonk playing defense. And the way the audience reacted supports it.
He receives a standing ovation from about a fourth of the audience who has come to see the the West Point class of 2014 graduate and commission as 2nd Lieutenants, and throughout his speech, he receives only mild applause from the graduates and their friends and families.
Compare that to the speech President George W. Bush gave to the corps of cadets in 2008 in his last military academy speech as President:

I like the name “Il Douchebag”. It fits very well.
His constant tardiness is a ploy to make himself feel special.
I miss the CLASS of the Bush presidency. I hate the degeneracy that has been brought to the office of POTUS by the Obamas!
I recently heard a USN tv commercial that ended with the words “and fairness for all”. I nearly threw up in my mouth. When I was in the Navy we prided ourselves in personal and service achievement, and killing bad guys and blowing sh*t up. How far we’ve fallen.
How true.
Wow, what a difference!
Just has Obama.
But, ONLY 1/4 of the CIVILIAN crowd was standing when Obama rose to the teleprompter (er, podium). The cadets themsekves? No movement at all.
And, of those civilians? Most of those standing seemed to be security (suits and black jackets and white shirts!)
Emperor Zero on the other hand uses the US Constitution as a snot rag.
Then look at the 2014 West Point Commencement. The cadets just sat there, a few tepidly moving their hands, as Traitorobama came to the podium. The cadets did stand at the 2010 West Point Commencement.
Gen. Washington vetoed every title & encomium the Congress tried to shower him with, finally suggesting that “Mister President” would be the most appropriate form of address.
One senator wanted to call him “Your Mightiness”.
The poor grads!!!
It is my fervent wish that all Americans come to understand that Ophonybama his LIEberal posse hate America and that they (We the People!) vote every one of them out of office at the first opportunity.
We have three elections coming up in which we can toss the LIEberals on the ash heap of American History; 2014, 2016 and 2018. (2018 would be the cleanup election in 2018 which rids us of the last Democrat Senators elected in 2010!)
We can do this, but it will take a super effort, if we are to save the Republic!
A group of us very pointedly stood and turned our backs on Slick Willy as he began to speak one memorable Memorial Day!
THAT was a great day!
PS Of course, we weren’t in uniform, but he got the point!
Just damn!
...and we wonder how Obama got elected.....NOT!!!
Thank you for your time and efforts DJ MacWoW. You and the rest of the tireless crew.
Shame on the 'free' riders that ride on the backs of others,
most especially on a forum such as this. Some folks absolutely do not have the means and that is understandable but those that can but won't, I have no use for you.
I thank The Lord for John and Jim Robinson.
John, you have created the finest forum software on the planet, bar none!!
C'mon Freepers, let's Git 'er Done!!!
My neighbor’s son is a West Point grad this year. His parents went back for graduation ceremonies.
I’ll be talking with them when they return home.
Did Bush use a telprompter? Great speech. He made them feel special in the context of who they are, talking about them just being born when the cold war was ending.
Then you could see the comments afterwards.
Obama is a different person, and in the next two years, more and more will come out about him.
Love the line, “I was sitting at the game with the general and had hoped to bring the commander in Chief trophy back here with me. Sorry, that I couldn’t, so instead you just get The Commander in Chief.” Hahahaaa
Don’t apologize, but you might wish to write it this way in the future:
