The only reason the Plame case became a big deal was that the media and the Democrats thought they could take down Dick Cheney. Listening to the jurors after the trial, they were mad because they couldn't find Cheney guilty of something and had to settle for Scooter. Some "impartial jury of ones peers."
The recent leak is entirely different--it can't be used to take down a major Republican official, so it can't be important.
