My college son is on twitter and was swearing quite a bit. We didn’t raise him that way, and in HS he would get asked by other kids why he didn’t swear.
I told him that I swear once in awhile, but try hard not to. Back in college though.... However, I didn’t have a permanent record of my foul language. I reminded him that if someone (future employer, future girl friend, girl friend’s parents, etc.) wanted to to search him out his twitter posts come up pretty quick (distinctive name).
He still posts the same stupid, inane stuff, but without the F-bombs.
