Obozamma just blamed BUSH (predecessor) for the VA problems.
Cited lack of $$$...but we all KNOW that VA spending has increased over the years...

Said he was aware of VA issues when he was a Senator in 2008...promised to fix them when he became Idiot in Chief...

Oh so it was the evil Republican House (since 2011) that’s at fault!

VA Spends Close to $500 Million on Conference Room, Office Makeovers Under Obama

President requests 3 percent increase for VA budget

President Barack Obama has increased the Department of Veterans Affairs’ budget each year since he took office, claiming the funds would give veterans the health care they deserve. However, an analysis of records show the agency has spent close to $500 million on office furniture under the Obama administration.

This upcoming fiscal year Obama requested a 3 percent increase for the Veterans Affairs budget. Obama’s FY 2015 budget request points out he has increased the VA discretionary budget by 35.2 percent since 2009 so veterans continue to access necessary services.

The VA has spent a total of $489 million to upgrade conference rooms, buy draperies, and purchase new office furniture during the past four-and-a-half years.

A total of 15,010 contracts were awarded for office furniture by the VA for Fiscal Years 2010 through 2014.

One contract awarded $6.8 million for construction of a conference room and facilities at its Carol Stream, Ill., office. That renovation is ongoing and is expected to be completed next April.

To make the office makeovers complete, draperies, roller shades, and cornice boxes were also purchased. The VA spent $10.7 million in the past five fiscal years on curtains and draperies.

Some of those contracts include $454,085 for “cubical curtains and draperies” for its Brecksville, Ohio, office. The Pittsburg, Pa., VA office spent $382,879 on window shades which were just installed in January.

Instead of draperies, the VA’s Los Alamitos office preferred cornice boxes and roller shades. The contract shows they spent $106,615 on its window treatments.

Veterans Budget Gets $63 Billion Boost From Obama White House

04/05/2013 4:43 pm EDT

The money is targeted at eliminating the backlog of veterans claims for benefits and increasing mental health services, including treatment for military sexual trauma.

Shinseki turned aside a question about what the White House Office of Management and Budget, which has approval authority over agency budget requests, had rejected out of his budget proposals. “You could always use more money,” he said. But he added that President Obama has been a strong advocate for veterans, and his budget requests have increased every year.

He said of Obama, “There is nobody more impatient than the guy we’re reporting to.”

With 900,000 Vets on Food Stamps, Obama Cuts Military Benefits

December 25, 2013 by Daniel Greenfield

Meanwhile Obama is also looking for ways to cut military pensions and health care benefits. (via Gateway Pundit)

According to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities 340,000 veterans receive public money for housing. And, 900,000 veterans live on food stamps. About 5,000 active duty troops are receiving food stamps.

In the latest blow to military families Obama cut the annual pay raise to military families by nearly 1%.

And that’s not all that started going south in 2008. But this cut is only a small slice in Obama’s war on American soldiers.

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel warned Tuesday that troops and their families will be asked to sacrifice on pay and benefits to preserve readiness in an era of tighter budgets.

This may be the most difficult” to achieve among his six priorities, Hagel said of proposals to trim pay increases, overhaul TRICARE and review retirement benefits while adapting to cuts in personnel.

But meanwhile money can be spent on Green Energy for the Navy and gay weddings. Because Obama has his priorities.

Not only has Obama sent soldiers to Afghanistan while tying their hands so that they can’t fight back, but he even stabbed them in the back once they got out of the hospital.

The Obama administration has asked Congress to cap annual active duty and reserve component pay raises, and to phase in over four years a complex formula for raising TRICARE fees on retirees of all ages and their families.

“Cited lack of $$$...but we all KNOW that VA spending has increased over the years...”

And a carryover surplus of between 500 million to 1 billion dollars each of the last 5 years. This so called man knows nothing but lying.
