Your mother’s doctor is right. It can only definitively be diagnosed after death. Currently, the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s is a differential one. Rule everything else out and that is what you are left with.

Well, not exactly. It can be diagnosed during life with a biopsy. It’s not worth it because, as he told us, the treatment/Rx is the same regardless of what kind of dementia it is.
