The cruel and unusual aspect is so "not to inflict pain for the mere sake of inflicting pain", but this idea that an execution should be painless is simply hogwash. If the method of execution, is to execute them quickly, then there shouldn't be a problem. If the method used is purposefully painful, then I may have some small difficulty with it, but that is esoteric and not a controlling factor.

The whole objection is that they want to end capital punishment.

I’m in favor of an acid bath. While I would prefer he gets dropped in while fully conscious, I will settle for being put to sleep first then dropped in.

If it were up to me they would still die from lethal injection; the difference is I would just tie them to a chair, inject them with battery acid then cut them loose so we could watch’em bounce.

Botched abortions at licensed clinics never result in a call from liberals to put all such procedures on hold until it can be proven that no more “accidents” will happen again.
