At the end of brief event, the soldier’s father, Bob Bergdahl, recited the most frequent phrase in the Koran — “Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim” —which means “In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Compassionate.”
After Bergdahl finished his statement and his praise for Allah, Obama hugged him.
The Taliban echoed Bergdahl, saying the trade happened “due to the benevolence of Allah Almighty and the sacrifices of the heroic and courageous Mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate.”

He was an anti-US flake, both before and after he deserted to the Taliban, and obviously “converted” in no time at all because he realized that this was the most anti-US thing he could do. Converting, btw, just involves reciting one prayer, so it’s not hard to do. Actually, let me put “prayer” in quotes, because it’s really a battle cry.
Would hope that Army Intel or the CIA or somebody would drug Bergdahl and question him completely but that ain’t gonna happen. Hope he does not become an active Taliban here in the States.
You know, if Bergdahl wants to start buying bomb components here he has five years of back pay to get him started.
