I was 5 or 6 years old when I first saw her on Love That Bob. She played Schultzy his secretary. Launched careers for Dwayne Hickman too. Jeeez, I’m the only one here on FR who remembers the show?

Sorry - while even I find it hard to believe, that one was before my time. LOL

When was it on? I probably would have remembered it if it went into reruns

Nope, I remember that show as well. Today, I feel older than dirt!

"The Bob Comings Show" and "Love that Bob" are the same program.

You can see Bob Cummings make gust appearances on other shows (e.g. I Love Lucy) but his career took a serious nosedive after he took the male lead in "My Living Doll", with Julie Newmar as the "scientific experiment" living doll (robot). She pretty much stole the show, even though it wasn't quite a ratings blockbuster. Julie Newmar at that time was an absolute stunner, and the show took every opportunity to show that off.

No, you’re not the only one. “Shultzy” was the character who came to mind when I first heard the announcement on the radio. I was a little older than you (8 to 12 years old when the show aired). Those were the days when the whole family could gather around the TV and know that the programming was safe viewing for all ages.

I was not unaware of her character in “The Brady Bunch,” but I didn’t watch it very much. I was mostly aware of her — Ann B. Davis — and her strong and solid foundation of faith. I admired her for not getting in bed with the ever-declining morals of Hollywood. Would that Hollywood had more like her.
