I have a great deal of respect for your generation, and my father’s. He’d be in his 90s were he alive right now.
Americanism needs to be taught to current generations. Your generation understood that basic concept like no other.
I miss it, and I think of other folks do too.
Most of us grew up with nothing.
My brother and I were born early in The Great Depression,my father died before we entered school,and then came the war.Times were tough,but one thing we all had was love of country.
We lived in a Boston neighborhood and 2 high points of our year were the Memorial Day parade and the Armistice Day parade. Flag waving,cheering,and tears.
Of course all the men of my generation served in the armed forces-—it was required.
I never thought I’d live to see the country we have now.
