The 12-year-old girls had been plotting the murder for months, police say.
Morgan E. Geyser was allowed to have two friends over each year for her birthday. This year, she'd celebrate on May 30. That is the day she and Anissa E. Weier would try to kill their friend during a sleepover.
On Monday, the two Waukesha girls were charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court as adults with attempted first-degree intentional homicide, each facing up to 65 years in prison. Their victim, another 12-year-old from Waukesha, was stabbed 19 times by either Geyser or Weier or both, according to a criminal complaint. All three attend Horning Middle School in Waukesha.
Geyser and Weier are being held on $500,000 bail each. The pre-teens attempted murder, they told police, to pay homage to a fictional character who they believed was real after reading about him on a website devoted to horror stories.
On Saturday, a bicyclist found the victim, lying on the sidewalk and covered in blood, with injuries to her arms, legs and torso. She had managed to crawl out of the woods, where the suspects had left her. She was rushed to a hospital, where she was in stable condition Monday evening, but fighting for her life.

Go to “Slender Man” fansites and you’ll eventually find the individual who convinced these girls that it was real, imho. I’ve been disturbed by my niece’s fascination with Minecraft. The game itself is not necessarily the problem, seems sort of passive and dull, but the 26 and even 30 year old male fans with YouTube channels, the chat boards, it’s not a solo pastime.
This happened a few days ago... and here I go and read this article... and it spells out EVERYTHING, paints a full and detail picture of the events that allegedly transpired. I am very curious what the whole story is. I am very curious how this was investigated... particularly because this is a case involving minors...
I am very curious how ALL the details of the case are released instantly to the press so quickly and openly... when we have adult news stories that we can’t get answers to like Benghazi, IRS scandal, Fast And Furious, Operation Choke Point, NSA spying, &c.
Maybe the suspects were blabbermouths, but the way this news story comes right out is... odd.
When the crime was discovered, the DA here said he would not release details until he had all the information he needed for a case. It was all released at one time because that’s the way he did it!
We have a smart and tough DA in our county. The attackers will be charged fairly and he will make a good case against them.
I want to know what this fictional character is, and who the author is.
***
And I want to know what the girls’ parents were doing about teaching them the difference between good and evil.
The 12 year-old girls in question look a bit messy but almost normal on the outside. On the inside, I suspect they are pure evil.
” fictional character who they believed was real after reading about him on a website devoted to horror stories”
Here is the critical piece of the story. Unfettered access to online materials. Impressionable girls raised in an environment of unbridled entitlement and detached reality. Compassion interpreted as weakness. An appreciation for perversion.
Why stab the girl to death?
Why not? It might be fun.
It's happened.
no.
some states don’t use murder, they use homicide.
Just another way of saying it. Different states have differently worded definitions.....
Yes and no. What if they were following Harry Potter ?
It’s not the fault of the character UNLESS the character was created to elicit such a response.
Demonic.
What religious upbringing/instruction did these girls receive in their lives? Did their parents teach them about God, the Ten Commandments, church attendance? Were their parents involved in their lives, their computer activities, their phone conversations? Did these parents know what their daughters did together as friends, what their interests were?
God help the parents of today. These kids are subjected to so much evil in the name of TV entertainment, music, videos, etc. In the case of these two kids, they couldn’t separate fiction/fantasy from reality. And they thought nothing about killing a friend...that’s evil.
Why are they being held in Washington county?
“This isnt just innocent teenage fantasy play-time stuff. It allows real demons to eventually take over their lives.”
I agree, but unfortunately most people don’t believe in (or fear) demons anymore...
If the victim didn’t die, the criminals can’t be charged with murder.
I saw one article with photos from the dad's instagram. He had posted photos of her drawing slender man and his comments showed he thought it was "cool." Note her "hipster" glasses. He posted a lot of gothic type skull stuff and they're the "cool" kind of family that's "into" the death stuff. I see many people around my age and younger getting into what is basically a death-worship lifestyle, with skull decorations, etc., even wanting skull-print fabric for nurseries. We are headed deeply into the post-Christian world.
Just located the link to the article with the instagram photos after I wrote the above. Here it is: http://hollywoodlife.com/2014/06/03/slender-man-stabbings-12-year-olds-morgan-geyser-anissa-weier/
