T. Cochran (i) 50.6% 88,969
C. McDaniel 47.7% 83,967
Cochran loses another .1% This is down to the wire.
Desoto county, home of the white flight from Memphis TN
Of course they are holding back in Hinds county.
Watch for a report coming out of Hinds county that vote counts will
be delayed due to a “malfunction”.
That is suspicious. Something crooked in that crooked county. Are they pulling a Landreiu?
Could Cochran have tapped into the Democrat machine and not simply encouraged crossover voting???
T. Cochran (i) 50.5% 93,236
C. McDaniel 47.8% 88,110
Cochran drops another .1%
I resemble that remark!
>> I also think Jones and Forrest counties will be important. <<
Jones is where McD lives. He’s carrying it by 70+ per cent.
Forrest is home to a big university, so it will go for Cochran — but not by such a big margin as McD is racking up in Jones.
He encouraged cross over votes by placing some ads in African media
outlets.
Another thread said the Delta counties will be heavy for Cochran and they haven’t reported yet. Is that true?
T. Cochran (i) 50.3% 95,502
C. McDaniel 48.0% 91,193
WE ARE SO DAMN CLOSE!!!!!
Cochran is old. He doesn’t “support amnesty”. He is pro-life. He voted against and opposes Obamacare.
His black mark on “abortion” is support for some embryonic stem cell research, while he has voted correctly on most every other pro-life issue, earning 0% NARAL but only 75% by NRLC.
On The Issues rates him a hard-core conservative, but he isn’t that hard-core.
He may not be the candidate people wanted, but he’s hardly a poster-boy for the “establishment”. They’ll claim him to pretend they defeated the tea party.
There are 12 counties that haven’t reported anything yet.

McDaniel has actually won Forrest county with over 90% reporting. Crushed Cochran in Jones
What this means is that "party" has devolved into spots on a ballot.
We saw it with Arlen Specter, who went from being a Democrat to being a Republican to being a Democrat again, just to get on the ballot.
We saw it with Michael Bloomberg, who ran for NYC Mayor as a Republican only because all the spots on the Democrat side were taken. He eventually switched to Independent after winning.
We saw it with Charlie Crist. We saw it with Joe Lieberman. They went the Independent route.
At least Lisa Murkowski stayed a Republican and went the write-in route. And Phil Gramm resigned as a Democrat and asked the voters to reelect him as a Republican.
If they switch parties solely for ballot access, then that means they have no core beliefs other than wanting to hold an office to rule over others.

Sure. And since most of those folks grew up in Tennessee, they don’t have the 36-year-long history of Cochran-produced federal goodies that you’ll find in most of the other 81 counties.
In other words, they have no reason to be loyal to Cochran and are very fertile territory for McD.
With 66.5% counted, McDaniel/Carey are 1,200 votes behind.
This is still winnable, never mind forcing a run-off.
