“In one of the deepest-red states in an off-year election against a weak incumbent and lazy campaigner, the tea party forces spent millions of dollars — to get a tie”

A 6 term incumbent spent 3 times the money of his opponent. Had endorsements from every paper in Mississippi and Republican political organization across the country. Had crossover democrats, that the campaign held back until needed to push the tie and force the runoff.

All in all, I say the outspent, outgunned upstart was the big winner. Now Cochran will have to spend more of his own money, get no help from the democrats and the establishment is going to leave him hanging in the wind because the winner is going to be a republican.

Oh Jennifer? Forgot one thing.

I’ll take “who is David Dewhurst for 400, Alex.”

Do they have open or closed primaries? I can see a lot of rats being encouraged to vote if they have open primaries.
