I grew up in Glasscock County. There was some oil/gas production there, but it really took off after I graduated from Garden City HS in 1974. Then it dies down with the busts in the 80’s and 90’s. Now, with the boom, it was hard to recognize Garden City as the sleepy little rural town I grew up in. Oil field truck traffic is extremely heavy.
