A Taliban commander close to the negotiations over the release of U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl told TIME Thursday that the deal made to secure Bergdahl’s release has made it more appealing for fighters to capture American soldiers and other high-value targets.

“It’s better to kidnap one person like Bergdahl than kidnapping hundreds of useless people,” the commander said, speaking by telephone on condition of anonymity...

Traitorobama has now established the precedent for this process to provide aid and comfort to the enemy.

A Taliban/Muslim sympathizer as president negotiating with the Taliban to release 5 Taliban leaders in exchange for another Taliban/Muslim sympathizer that collaborated with the Taliban.

Nothing to see or criticize here, move along.

This could become a conveyor belt to enable Obama to close Gitmo by successive releases to get back hostages. Sounds like a plan.

Unless Western leaders come to understand that there are fundamental cultural disparities between the West and Islamic cultures, relations and interaction are doomed to failure. They are not just like us. The very concept of peace is different. A Westerner considers a state of peace exists when there is no fighting or overt conflict. A Muslim is at peace when non believers are either killed, converted or mercilessly subjected and Sharia law is fully implemented. These attempts to “nation build” with the institutions and values that emanated from the European enlightenment are doomed in Islamic countries. It is a sad fact that most Muslim countries are not governable in the modern world.

“More kidnappings to come”

This was probably the point the CIA Afghan Station Chief made and he got outed publicly for it by the Obama Administration.

Bring in a new leftist apparatchik right when the kidnapping risk goes through the ceiling, there’s a brilliant management strategy.

It is a sad fact that nost Muslim countries are not governable in the modern world

I'd change that to most Muslim countries are not governable by the modern world. The western priority has been all wrong. Instead of trying to change them to be like us and allow Muslims to move into western countries, we should've been keeping them out of our own.

Those Muslim countries that were succeeding did so not because they embraced democracy, but they had heavy-handed enough strongmen running the show. We've not only deposed them and are still funding terrorists against Assad, we've bankrolled their war against the West.

What should the lesson of 911 have been? That everyone of those terrorists was in the US illegally and from our "friend" Saudi Arabia. And still our leaders (both parties) defend the invasion of the US!

It appears the Taliban and Al Qaeda just applied for and got a new credit card with unlimited line of credit, courtesy of the White Hut.

Paid for by the US taxpayers, of course.

Like members of congress? Members of generals and politicians families? Perhaps generals and the press? Does no good to kill or capture me or anyone in my family, all congress will do is laugh, but, a member of the House, now that is a different story, maybe a homosexual candidate for Governor?

The kidnappings don’t even have to be battlefield soldiers.

There are lots of officers right here on domestic bases. Heck, those guys have been disarmed by this administration. Aren’t open borders wonderful?

The American traitor had reached his usefulness teaching military tactics and English and was traded for leaders in the Taliban.
And according to Oliver North, five to six million dollars was involved, too.

“You know we are also human beings and have hearts in our bodies,” a senior Taliban commander affiliated with the Haqqani network, which was holding Bergdahl captive, tells TIME. “We are fighting a war against each other, in which [the Americans] kill us and we kill them. But we did whatever we could to make [Bergdahl] happy.”..................The Taliban tried to make Bergdahl happy and Obama made the Taliban happy.
