What Winston Churchill said of Secretary of State John Foster Dulles that he was a bull who carried his own china shop around with him is true of Susan Rice, who is, to be polite, accident-prone . When in September 2012 she was deputed to sell to the public the fable that the Benghazi attack was just an unfortunately vigorous movie review a response to an Internet video it could have been that she, rather than Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, was given this degrading duty because Rice was merely U.N. ambassador, an ornamental position at an inconsequential institution. Today, however, Rice is Barack Obamas national security adviser, so two conclusions must be drawn.

Sounds good, but keep in mind, if she were to follow #3, she couldn’t do #1. ObamaCare was an Act of Congress, and repealing it is their job, not the Executive Branch’s. Once they pass the law repealing it, she can sign the law into effect.
True, but if Gov Palin were to be elected president, there would have to have been a political avalanche of such magnitude that the congress also is run by staunch conservatives and constiutionalists. Such a congress would not take much time to repeal the Obamacare. See, problem solved!
...the congress would be run by... etc
and
constitutionalists
Well, there is that, of course.
We crossed a tipping point, I believe when we elected Obama. We had a chance during the last election but there is a strong argument to be made the Romney wouldn't have reversed the trend, only slowed it. I now fear we have lost the generation that Reagan once warned us about. A generation that looses the indelible American spirit of self reliance and passion for individual liberties and honor is NOT RECOVERABLE. They will raise the next generation.
I bounce back and forth between hope and despair. A few years ago, my father pointed out a truth that was horribly enlightening. In conversation leading up to the election, I stated, "It is sad, my children will be the first generation to have it worse than than their parents. They will have fewer opportunities and the American Dream may be unattainable." His response almost stopped my heart.
"Son, you are wrong. It isn't YOUR children that has it worse than their parents. It's mine. You guys are worse off than we were. Your generation will see the end of the American Dream."
-Institute immediate across the board hiring/wage freezes for ALL federal employees
-Sign any legislation that provided veterans with the same health care insurance coverage as that enjoyed by all current legislators and their staffs
-Require interviews and signed resignations from all non-Executive-appointed Federal Division Directors, accompanied by signed reports NOT taken from SOP manual, describing and justifying their positions, description of duties, who performs those duties in the absence of described employee, and reason for retaining said Directors and/or employees. Resignations to be accepted or rejected by President, and accepted resignations to be effective in 21 days from date of interview.
I agree with you. But, “we” did not elect Obama. The ignorant, the illegal, the how many times can I cast a ballot? elected the kenyan.
And he is doing everything he said he would do.
He is destroying America.
And the media cheers him on.
Well, unless the morons who cheer him on have some safe sanctuary to hide in they will be gosse-stepped into the gulag with everyone else.
I too am riding the yoyo of national hope and salvation but
I must have seen that old drawing of a frog, with its head in the bird’s mouth and its hands wrapped around the bird’s neck with the notation ‘never, never, never give up’ beneath, one too many times...
Senator Toomey,
Your showing of support and concern for veterans is appreciated but your stance against crime in Chester, however well intended, failed to address what could be the most serious factor causing those waves of violence, the appearance of Mexican drug cartel gangs not only in Chester but throughout the United States.
In Chester, even the recent round up of drug cartel gang members by federal agencies will have little impact on their operations. Why?
Because the political leaders in Philadelphia have recently publicly announced they are disregarding Federal law and are discontinuing Philadelphia Police Department cooperation with the Office of Immigration Control and Enforcement.
Couple that local action with the announcement in 2013 that United States Border Patrol agents have been ordered to stand down when they recognize drugs and/or people being smuggled into our Country and we have an impending disaster on our hands.
You as a United States Senator have access to a great deal more information on that subject than any one citizen does.
I urge you to task one of your staff members to verify that information. I’m sure they will come across significant data supporting the fact that the Mexican drug cartel’s incursion into the U.S. started in 2008 in Chicago and spread quickly.
My concern with the Obama administration does not stop there.
As I recently informed Congressman Fitzpatrick, I learned this week that within forty eight hours of releasing five jihadists from Guantanamo Bay, which took place without Congressional notification, as President’s are required to do by law, it was reported by Reuters that Barack Obama’s DOJ announced the resuscitation of the Domestic Terrorism Executive Committee.
A few years ago the Department of Homeland Security announced that pro-lifers, Tea Party members and returning veterans were on a terrorist watch list.
In other words, Americans who hold traditional values were considered possible terrorists. Is this action of resuscitating the Domestic Terrorism Executive Committee a renewed effort to target the same people?
Is the Obama administration preparing to ramp up its action against traditional America? I urge you to take a stand against this assault on our freedom, our duty to dissent.
I urge you to take action to rein in this dangerous behavior being promoted by the White House.
I further urge you to join in any Congressional effort to hold all in the Executive Branch found to be involved in any abuse of power accountable for their actions.
I look forward to your response.
The members of the “Peerage” in Washington are waiting for the voters to do something.
.....Via a big wave election come November.
Thank you for your post.
I wish we could bring GW back from the grave to give speeches like this again. Wonder if he would be surprised that we’d have to dumb it down 500% so that 21st century Americans can even understand the words.
Washington nailed it.
With a very small number of exceptions (active duty military), I'd like to see a simple rule for FedGov employee hiring: Until the federal budget is balanced, any agency can hire one employee for every two terminations or one for every four retirements, and only at the same or a lower salary; any employee hired beyond that ratio would require individual congressional approval. That simple rule would do wonders for our budget over time.
Excellent and much needed. I passed through immigration and was shocked to see every slouch there had a sidearm. Where are these goofs coming from. We have way too much government and way too many governmental authorities with guns.
I’d like to see legislation to disarm them asap. Call the local Sheriff or police department. They’re at every airport and border crossing anyway.
The military, FBI, and Secret Service should be armed. BATFE should be abolished, and silliness such as armed BLM, National Weather Service, or Social Security agents should not be permitted.
Sounds good.
