The military is protesting, and we see nothing in the media?
Spittle? Sounds like a familiar accusation
Paul Archie
So the military is splitting along racial lines? I never thought I’d see it.
Sounds like a racial element may be involved—the Sgt. Major was defending his bro Obama’s illegal trade of five major Muslim terrorists for a traitor.
Drill instructor? I thought they had a no-hazing policy now.
Archie was just defending Obamerica from a domestic terrorist. /s
Let’s think about this:
The thief/assaulter serves as advisor to the base general. And he swipes the hat in full view of a cop who does NOTHING, drives off and is stopped at the base gate.
OK so far? On scene, maybe a couple hundred meters away there they have:
1. the cops
2. the aggressor
3. the attacked guy
4. the hat that was stolen
But because of a SUDDEN THUNDERSTORM, they “suspend the police investigation” and only contact the aggressor much later that night to let him know he will be arrested.
Does that sound like a normal police investigation in the military..?
It sounds like his boss interceded and they cops gave him special treatment.
And it sounds to me like the black attacker did not like criticism of a black POTUS, somehow.
If Archie had a problem with what Arguello was doing, he should have made his case from a respectable distance. He exhibited aggressive behavior steadily moving up nose to hose with Arguello. He was trying to get Arguello to take physical action. When that didn’t work, he took the hat.
Arguello a former Marine represented the corp better here than Archie did, by far.
Archie was just tossing a hissy fit, because he couldn’t grasp what has actually taken place concerning Berghdahl.
Wow.
The protester is on thin ice both legally and as a former Marine wearing part of the uniform while protesting. If the ball, hook and bird is removed he’s on more defensible ground, but I can’t support the idea of wearing parts of the uniform while protesting. I was against Kokesh and crew doing it when they protested against the war, and I can’t just switch because I think the protester has his heart in the right place.
The Sergeant Major is way out of line on several levels. Looks like the law sees it that way, since he was booked. As a senior Marine, you have to question his judgement.
When he gets out of his vehicle off base, in uniform and essentially counter protests, he’s breaking the same rules he’s trying to enforce, if that was his intention. In his case, while on active duty and while in uniform, the rules regarding political activity aren’t even somewhat murky, like they are for discharged vets or civilians.
As to race, who knows? I can’t see what’s in an individual heart from that video, besides barely controlled anger. Maybe he is pissed off at the wearing of part of the uniform while protesting and that’s were it begins and ends. He may be blindly supporting Obama because of race, but the guy protesting may be against Obama because of race. I can’t tell from the video and the story.
I’m aware of the overwhelming support Obama gets from blacks, but I’m not going to ascribe that motive to the SgtMaj here unless he declares it. I’m not willing to ignore the racial component that’s likely to exist, but I’m not going to automatically apply it, either.
It’s pretty depressing to see two Marines, former or not, locking horns because of the ineptitude of Obama. Like that old vet said at the D-Day ceremony, “it’s not that we don’t respect the CIC, it’s just that he makes it so hard to do so.”
From what I’ve been able to gather (and, of course, it’s all mostly guessing at this point), this confrontation was neither about Obama nor about race.
It was, assuming I’ve got it mostly correct, about a former USMC DI disrespecting a piece of USMC gear specific to USMC Drill Instructors as a civilian, outside a USMC Recruit Training Depot as part of his (the civilian’s) protest.
Can’t tell exactly what specific issues they are arguing about (USMC respect or Obama), and it looks like the former DI’s cover simply fell off when the SgtMaj’s forehead contacted the brim, then SgtMaj caught it.
Hardly something LE should get involved with.
Active Duty ping.
Another VERTICAL video. When will people learn how to properly hold their cell phone when recording video?
