Look, don’t dump on the messenger. There’s enough thought control in the larger society. I am describing what I experience, which does not indicate acceptance. As I said, it is what it is.
There are “many, many” families with gay children and married gay children who simply do not and cannot discuss it. That does not mean it isn’t happening nor that the extended family isn’t supportive of the fact.
We may find it disgusting, deviant or just wrong. Any small attempt to move outside one’s own personal bubble will verify that the observations I posted are correct. Once upon a time, there were gender norms. Now, not so much.
The parents of children who insist on cross-dressing are profiled in the State media.The schools, including the students,are required to accommodate them,and parents who object may even find themselves harassed or worse. The US military accepts gays and it looks like they are going to accept transgenders. Bradley Manning is getting sex change surgery and the life-long hormonal supplements courtesy of the US military/taxpayer while serving time in a military prison. Someone who leaves or even complains specifically about all this is more likely to feel societal heat than the participants. If it was so universally despised, why is all this happening? Is it simple tyranny foisted upon a complaining and outraged majority? Then why aren’t all the military resigning en masse as a protest? Why aren’t the schools empty? Do the kids bully the gays and trans? Sure. Are the bullies punished. Severely.
Call it whatever. The fact is, they are even getting married (or “married”) within various churches. The goal was to not only devalue traditional marriage, it is to take over the churches as accomplices in all the State PC. Think it bothers the radicals to see traditional Christians leaving their churches over this? HA!
Technically, many straight people practice sodomy. Kids are instructed in the practice within State schools. It is an accepted (by some) sexual practice within male and female relationships. I see/hear no outrage or disgust in wider society over the practice. It is no longer whispered about. Novels describing this in excruciating detail become best sellers.
Want to be separate but equal by establishing a church or a school that refuses to go along with this agenda? Expect State harassment and no mass demonstrations by supporters. Want to just boycott and refuse to watch, listen or read about it? Go for it. It simply reinforces the isolation and marginalization of what was once traditional, majority culture.
As for Sam or any other football player, he _was_ drafted. He came out before the draft. If it was such an awful thing, universally condemned, why didn’t he keep shut or wait until the contracts were signed? I don’t really care, as I am not a fan of the game. Less so when I see all the butt grabbing and hugs. Want to think that is just manly behavior? Fine, but it is really conditioning when it is a close up on TV and the viewers’ nose is being rubbed in it.
However, the progs have co-opted every aspect of traditional life. They now even have children with 3 genetic *parents*. I think there was recently a *marriage* of three people. I saw the headlines, didn’t read the articles, so that’s all I know.
If it makes everyone feel good to pretend they are still in the majority, go for it. I prefer to live in reality and to understand what is going on in the world. But, like everything else, that’s just me and YMMV.

I don’t think it is that many on a national scale. Sodomites are only about 2% of the population, and some families have more than one, so the percentage couldn’t be much higher than that.

Enlisted men can’t resign. They have to serve out their contracts, up to six years. The officers generally come from one of the academies or a regular university, and so are already intimidated into shutting up about homosexuality.
But you are right: many, many, many people have been persuaded or bullied into adopting a generally positive outlook toward this loathsome perversion.

This left families with two incomes, and the government saw that they could tax away half of that and the family would still have the equivalent of one income. Now the wives can’t quit to homeschool, because after taxes they need both incomes just to get by, even as they watch the purchasing power of their salaries shrivel like a spider on a hot stove.
I came back to the States in 2006. Many food items have more than doubled in price since then, and good-paying jobs are scarcer and scarcer.

Pope JPII said that every sex act should be “open to life.” If we’re talking about some non-rectal types of foreplay, then I don’t really see a problem. If we’re talking about buggery, that’s not open to life.
It seems to me that the Bible condemns mainly pre- and extra-marital sex, and men lying with men. It seems to leave some room for creativity on the marital couch.

As an older man, it would upset me. However, since you have brought up that you are a member of the contradictory gender, I will say that in my experience women do not understand the enormity of a homosexual act for a man. They don’t have any trouble understanding what a trauma rape is for a woman, but they don’t seem to grasp its effect on a man. That, I think, tends to allow them to be more accepting of male homosexuality than they might otherwise be.
I hasten to add that I am aware many women disapprove for religious reasons or other causes.
