I had occasion to attend the USAF SERE school (Colorado campus) in June ‘71. There was one rule - “they” couldn’t do anything to “us” likely to cause permanent physical damage.
I learned one thing, in no uncertain terms:
Do. Not. Allow. Yourself. To. Be. Captured. By. Forces. Of. An. Oriental. Army.
Events subsequent to Feb. ‘73 revealed the wisdom of that position.
“...Do. Not. Allow. Yourself. To. Be. Captured. By. Forces. Of. An. Oriental. Army....”
I guess the same can be said for being captured by moslems as well.
This Bergdahl clown seems to have survived only because he defected to them.
To my mind, we should treat the people we capture the same as they would treat our people, and let it be known. You hurt our people, your people will be hurt in kind.
